that just because you're post 16 doesn't mean you have to run in the 16 path the entire race.

I would bet Game Winner had the fastest average speed in that race accounting for the extra distance he had to travel and still coming up only a few lengths short. Feel bad for the horse he got a raw deal.

The DQ is a whole other mess though.
