4/5 would be an absolute gift on Chrome and TVG is giving higher odds as well again.

after reading your guys comments about the pace...i was thinking, if the pace was slow then why didnt any of the other front runners hang with CC in the stretch?

time wise, i am use to 22's and 45's the first quarter and half mile. maybe the track was playing slow.

The pace wasn't that slow. As I posted the splits compared to the 2011 Derby and the track wasn't playing slow..... The other front runners didn't hang simply bc they aren't on CCs level

Sherman is a very humble guy. Do you expect him to come out and say CC could beat these horses if he spotted them 20 lengths? NO!

I was a non believer and an East Coast horse guy but I saw this Beast in the Santa Anita Derby while in Vegas and East Coast and West Coast guys alike in town knew he was very special and it would take some very bad lick for him to not win the Derby.

I took my 5-2 and was very happy and going to take my 9/5 that he wins the crown and be very happy.

There is not a 3yr old in the United States that will beat him at 1 3/16 miles if he doesn't get sick or hurt. The interesting part with be the 1 1/2m Belmont. Everyone said he can't handle distance yet he handled the mile and a qtr without much effort. I think he might just win the Belmont with Secretariat Fashion. No he isn't as good but he is a beast and the competition is poor.

Well lets just cancel the race right now. .Obviously he cant be beat so why bother.
Oh ,never mind that he ran his longest race ever, two short weeks ago.
These races are easy. Heres to the Preakness winner

Just a little food for thought .

Recent case of a missing Preakness occurred in 1995, when D. Wayne Lukas stablemates Thunder Gulch and Timber Country tag-teamed the first two legs of the Crown. Timber Country fell ill and missed the Belmont, leaving the field to Thunder Gulch, who won by two. His jockey, Gary Stevens, considers it a Triple Crown that got away.

“I had about 85 percent of the horse I had in the Preakness that I had in the Derby,” Stevens said. “And still he gets beat by just three-quarters of a length. If he’d have had three weeks between the Derby and the Preakness instead of two, there’s no doubt in my mind I would have won the Triple Crown with Thunder Gulch. But that’s what makes the Triple Crown so difficult.”

Everyone said he can't handle distance yet he handled the mile and a qtr without much effort. I think he might just win the Belmont with Secretariat Fashion. No he isn't as good but he is a beast and the competition is poor.

Where to start with this ridiculous statement.......the fact your willing to take 9/5 on a TC winner tells me you dont know much about this sport.
you really think he handled the mile and a quarter without much effort? i guess the length a half he won by in the slowest fast track Derby since 1974 really shows that right?? And no horse will ever win the Belmont in Secretariat fashion again.

Oh Gawd, Vet. I just had a flashback.

I bet my First Holy Communion money on Timber Country that year. I was sitting around the first turn at Churchill for the race.

I swear that when they came around that Thunder Gulch looked me straight in the eye and said, " DUMMASSSSSSSS."

    He was right!

    Tough break Mike,thanks for sharing
Quick question. Whats your take on Illinois Derby winner Dynamic Impact?
I know hes a big big outsider. Id like to compare him with a horse that went on to win that race a few years back and then went on to win the Kentucky Derby, who was also a big long shot.[No respect for Hawthorn Ah]
That would be War Emblem [ as you know ]

Dynamic Impact has the fastest winning time in that race,1:49 7 in the last 15 or so years, even bettering the winning time set by War Emblem.

This lightly raced colt upset 2-5 fav Midnight Hawk and after skipping the Kentucky Derby,he could turn a few heads and get a slice of the pie this Saturday.

What do you think.? Am I dreamin?

    Hey DJBrow...

Why do you not like Son of Curlin? I have him as one of my money horses, especially since they got the rail magnet off him. Big horse, not outclassed, runs the distance, has a late kick.

    Preakness Race Day Synopsis

I'm probably over thinking this race because CC is a beast and should win easily. But, I got to thinking why does the trainer mention the throat blister? It can't be seen and if it hasn't changed his daily routines why even mention it? He may be giving the horse an excuse if he loses before the race is run.

If Bayern gets the early lead (which will be high doubtful) easily and the pace is slow it could hold on but in looking at it's fractions during all of it's races it has had slower paces at times and couldn't hold on. Because he has had extra time to rest and it is a 1/16th shorter than Derby it could hold on.

More likely scenario is there is a hot contested pace CC sits 3rd-5th and if he is healthy he wins for fun but if Espinosa pushes his buttun and gets no response Kid Cruz or Ride on Curlin will be flying down the stretch and one if not both will be there.

    I'm playing :

    $6 Trifecta's Pimlico Race 12

3-5-7-8-10 Tri Box and $2 Superfexta box

    3/7/10-3/7/10-all 3/7/10-all-3/7/10

    3-7-all 3-all-7 3-10-all 3-all-10 7/10-7/10-all 7/10-all-7/10

This thread had nothing to do with how the Preakness turned out. But of course you being the CLOWN that you are would post a stupid comment like.

Don't forget your also the moron who was trashing CC leading up to the Derby. I would look for the thread but I don't feel like it.

I'll say it again THE ONLY REASON YOU WENT WITH CC IN THE DERBY WAS BC HE WAS THE FAVORITE! YOUR A TERRIBLE CAPPER, DONT EVER FORGET THAT.

Nothing to do with him being favorite. I went back and watched all of his races ( I was concerned at some of the 6th places finishes), but he had valid excuses). Just admit you could have not been more wrong with your analysis. A good capper had to adjust and it paid off for me big time in the Derby and Preakness.

Did you even look at my picks idiot??? My analysis of how the Preakness would play out was pretty dead on. Not to mention I hit the P4 again, and there was no "big time" to be made on Saturday.

When the day comes that there is big time payouts I know that you won't have it bc you all you do is play chalk. Calling yourself a handicapper is an insult to actual handicappers.......

Because I'm an idiot and play against horses solely because I don't like their trainer/owner.
