    Not true.

Especially not on a unit based posting site.

You can just keep doubling and tripling units with chase plays and eventually end up in the green which is imaginary money anyhow.

Winning % is a more reliable indicator by far.

    Once again, incorrect.

If you bet all games at +101 average and go 50% you are winning. If you bet all lines at -110 and go 50% you are losing. Thats why you can be several games under .500 (especially in baseball) and still be + money....

Winning % is not a more reliable indicator "by far", its a distant second in fact.

Who bets all games (or even most) at a +101 average...? The standard juice is -110. Everyone pays it unless they have a site that offers slightly less like -105 or Matchbook prices when they were around. All of this is based on the standard juice on a standard spread.

Jesus man, stop trying to play devil's advocate in every single thread I make.

Are you dense? I said "average" That means adding up all the -110s, -130s and +150s and dividing by the total number of plays. Thats how I can be 100-117 in basball this year and still be winning.

I was being the devils advocate. I was trying to correct you ignorance on the subject matter. Maybe you should read and learn for a change.

We're not talking baseball where ML's rule the day.

We are talking basketball where standard bets are -110 juice for sides and O/U's.

Again winning percentage rules the day in NBA betting  because If someone will tail or fade, they are much more likely to take the spread instead of jamming the ML in the NBA just because you advised it. Also, no one is seriously going to post a -170 juice pick without it being parlayed because no one needs advice on taking a -170 game (maybe a series at best) to ruin your 'average' talk.

MLs should be played in all sports. If you are gonna take 4 or 5 points with an NBA dog, you might as well bet them @ + money on the ML. Rarely will the point spread matter....same with NFL.

Disagree completely. The spread doesn't matter in many games, that is true, and many games the favorites win. That's why they are favorites. But you can't bet the Thunder ML when they are laying 10, or the ML with even a standard -6/-7 for the home team between any two teams. No real money will be made.

Playing large ML's in the NBA + or - is a long term losing proposition.

Baseball, you are forced to take them because there is no true line for obvious reasons.
