We never hear of the good stories(guns)

1. You posted “I wouldn't hope a criminal wouldn't hurt me.”  That has nothing to do with “playing the odds.” It has to do with you wanting a criminal to hurt you.  That’s pretty messed up IMO, but hey, whatever does it for you.

2. Typical response when someone can’t come up with a real response.

3. You trashing someone else’s country isn’t the issue.  It’s you trashing someone else’s country and then telling them not to respond to it. 

You want to know why the issues a country with 5 million people has isn’t comparable to the issues a country with 315 million people has?  Seriously?

If Japan ever had about as many guns as they had citizens their gun murder numbers might be relevant.  Or are you claiming that there is a simple solution for getting rid of the 300 million guns in America?

4. There are millions of guns in Canada.  I think it’s a safe bet that at least some of them are in the hands of criminals.  If you want to put your family’s lives in the hands of a violent criminal and just hope that they only “catch a beating or something” that’s your prerogative.

I’d rather not be put my family’s lives in the hands of a violent criminal if it can be helped, but hey, that’s just me.

1. Normally I would assume it was a typo, but with the people that would risk their families lives in order to avoid hurting a criminal committing a violent crime, who knows.   It’s not that farfetched.

If you desire to avoid arguments as much as you claim to you might want to avoid going around trashing other people’s countries (especially if you’re not prepared to defend your statements).

You started trashing other people’s countries and now you claim it was others who “brought in all sorts of other stuff” in this thread.

It cracks me up how some of the same people that rant and rave about how often lunatics go on shooting rampages are the same people that accuse others of being paranoid for carrying a gun out of fear of such a lunatic.

Well we would never know what an intruder's intentions are once they enter our home. I'm certainly not going to shoot anybody running out the door with my bobblehead collection. On the way in is a whole 'nother barrel of bratwurst.

You say negative things about other people’s countries, demand that they NOT respond to your comments, and then when they don’t obey your command it’s because they are being “overprotective/over reactive.” 

If you need a memory refresher go take a look at GD threads that have long gun debates. They're all more or less the same.  But hey, what can you expect when one side argues based on logic and the other side argues based on emotion?

I wouldn’t expect a closed-minded person to ever consider another person’s POV, much less change their mind.

Oh, so if you only bash someone’s country one time they are NOT allowed to comment on it, but if you bash their country multiple times they ARE allowed to comment on it.

Personally if I didn’t give a crap about what happens in a country I wouldn’t keep talking about that country.  But hey, that’s just me.
