hoopsstar - vanzack posted some link about a rant he went on about flat betting. I know what the post is about. Van. claims he was an expert but last I saw he lost about 10 straight bowl games, many where he was clearly on the wrong side of , and then he quit college football for the year saying it was just too hard. By the way, Vanz's method of flat betting is not gonna go over with any local bookies like someone said, of course you can bet whatever you want online. Clearly one could find better use of their time than to figure out down to the dollar what to lay on a baseball game. Guys like Van that feel a need to convince people on the internet of how great they are are usually the biggest losers of all.

handicapping and money management are two different concepts. Maybe he had a cold streak or what not, but he seems like he knows what he's doing by minimizing his losses. Also he's explaining the concepts in terms of mathematics, so if you can prove the system wrong then show some evidence that it is wrong, instead of perceiving it as a flawed system.

OK - I thought about this and Im a little pissed.
We arrived in Curacao this morning, and Wendy (tight brunette - a smoking body but grill could use a little work - last in my rotation) says to me "these covers guys are assholes!"
And you know what? I had to agree.
Who the fuck are you guys to question my credentials? Yes I live most of the time on a yacht, and yes I surround myself with the finer things in life (including supermodels) - why the fuck do you guys find it necessary to knock me down a notch?

Let's get the story straight... Gambling is pure logic. You aren't going to win when emotions come into play. Just like vanzack said... you have to be a machine... a computer. A computer doesn't have feelings... it has a program... it runs the program. Where as humans have emotions... gambling becomes addicting and people seem to 2nd guess themseleves on a bad string of losses. A computer wouldn't 2nd guess itself... it simply runs the program.
Sports Wagering is totally different offshore than ever now... especially with books such as Matchbook.com etc. Let me give you an example...
Let's say Sunday Night Baseball Features The struggling Detroit Tigers +170 at St. Louis Cards... -200. So you load up on Detroit and wager $2,000.00 to win $3,400.00... Let's say Detroit has an amazing Top of the 1st and scores 5 Runs... it's 5-0 Detroit already. St. Louis hasn't even swung the bats yet... and Matchbook says... ok it's now Detroit -200 and St. Louis +170... so now you load up on St. Louis at +170 $2,000.00 to win $3,400.00... now either way... whoever wins.. you're going to win $1,400.00 Cash. This is what Vanzack is saying. Yes, there aren't too many people who have a bankroll of $4,000.00 laying around... but this is how you make money offshore. Everyone want's to be the Big Dog at covers.com and make a thread and say hey... I'm taking Detroit +170... and I'm letting $2,000.00 ride on it... (I've done it myself) but then in the same thread... you say guys I hedged it the other way because Detroit scored 5 runs in the first... and I want to get some return on my money. People in the same post would say... WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT??? That's crazy!!! This is where emotions come into play. If you act like a machine this wouldn't bother you... you're playing to win. This is what Vanzack means with the 5% Type B. Club so to speak. People have way to much pride in letting Detroit ride out with that 5 run cushion... then all of a sudden St. Louis wins in the Bottom of the 9th and you thought you won $3,400.00 but you actually lost $2,000.00
