Ohio St - greatest team of all time.

You left all credibility behind with that one.

Not to mention this statement when talking about the upcoming season

OSU will be absolutely loaded this year, perhaps more loaded than any other team ever.

It doesn't matter if you like vanzack or not....he's right on with what he writes above.

I find it hilarious that people think you have your head up someone's ass just because you believe (based on objectivity) that a person is correct in what they are saying.

I don't necessarily like or dislike vanzack....don't know him well enough.  But I know that he is right with what he says above.  And if people were honest with themselves, they would see it as well.

This is obviously written by the smartest man on covers.

And because of this statement, I can now objectively say with certainty, that I do like Hutchemall.

Type C Gambler: One who is full of shit and needs imaginary friends.

When going past St. Lucia don't hit the rubber ducky with your toy boat.

A thread in the main baseball forum pointing out an often overlooked error in most peoples flat betting strategy gets angry responses because I dont post a pick.  I am cluttering up the main forums with non pick threads. Also, someone who is not interested in flat betting because he doesnt have a calculator and bets with a local.

Look - there are no problems with being a group A gambler - but dont lie to yourself.  Dont get mad when you lose.  There are plenty of folks who bet for fun, know they will lose, and keep it in control.  The people who get in trouble are the people who fancy themselves a group B gambler, but do everything to be a group A gambler.

From the psychological standpoint, it's easy to determine why most people are searching for winners. A vast majority of bettors are looking to nail a winner and increase their bankroll instantly. A smart bettor will research the market first, make sure he maximizes the good runs and limits the bad ones by disciplined investing, not by chasing, doubling up, staking progressively, etc...

But most don't have the patience. Most people are degenerates, who need to bet every day. Some of them have to have 'action' every moment of the day, or they get itchy fingers.

I wouldn't frown upon such people and put the investors on the pedestal, those are just two VERY different groups of people. The first are gamblers, trying to increase their chances of hitting by "some capping" but nothing more than that. No long term plans, no strategy, no knowledge whatsoever of how the market works, no knowledge of line movement and no plans in case they go 0-4 in a 5 day span.

No nothing. Just capping (a bit), betting games consistently and hoping for the best.

This isn't rocket science, it's just a very tricky skill of how spotting value and knowing how to end up on top, not by magic tricks, but by sound investing.

And because of this statement, I can now objectively say with certainty, that I do like Hutchemall.

    Thanks for the feedback, vanzack.

How are things going in your homeland of Equatorial Guinea? It's great how your country if flush with all that oil revenue. I know your government is repressive and corrupt, but maybe someday you'll be lucky and the U.S. will invade and liberate your people.

    Interesting post:

I got to tell you I am a bit thrown off by all the sensationalizing with sailing in the islands like a millionaire, blah, blah.
Owning a boat and/or cruising on a boat with "YOUR OWN CAPTAIN" like Van says costs BIG BUCKS!
I do not bet anymore myself! Took too much time and when I did bet it was a grind! In the long run I actually made money but it was soooo little it was simply not worth it. I did employ very firm and hard money management making each bet between 1 -3 %
of my bankroll and no more! I make MUCH MUCH MUCH more with my side business, Internet Development. Bob MCune, (who is one of the greatest AND MOST DISCIPLINED MONEY MANAGING hcappers of all time; taught it in Las Vegas at a community college for years), himself even said a 55% hcapper betting $500 per game at a few games/day will make far less money than a middle class working stiff job pays! If you do the math you will find this to be true. Even if you get reduced juice like matchbook there is a house commission on your wins!
I don't know about you, but I got to tell you folks when someone brags and describes themselves with delusions of grandeur it makes me really question that person!? Sailing with a private captain in the blue azure sea on his yacht through the islands! Come on now VAN!? Who are you trying to fool?I know we here on COVERS may be gullible and even stupid AS YOU PUT IT SO ELOQUENTLY but I don't think we're f-ing flat out retarded!  GIVE ME A BREAK!

Funny, I remember Vanzack from just two years ago when he owned a lawn maintnance company, lived in the greater Orlando area and had a bunch of high-powered attorneys advising on how to claim his winnings on his taxes.  In fact, he was not able to comment on controversial offshore betting situations that developed until he got legal advice as he might be accused of "giving advice to others on the matter" otherwise.

Quite the jump from supervising a gang of minimum wage lackies cutting lawns all day to cruising the world with hot bitches, a yacht and nothing but time on your hands.

What the fuck ever.  I rarely comment on your bullshit but come on man.......your shit gets old.

Vanzack, you are wrong on the flat betting, you're throwing out some confusing math, but if you assume no juice, then

    Favorite -150 , $150 to win 100, will win about 60%
    Dog + 150 100 to win $150 will win about 40%

So the risk - return ratio is the same for both the faves and dogs here, obviously the books make their money on the juice, but you hope to hit at a higher rate than the break even point to offset the juice and make a profit. It appears that you aren't winning enough on the favorites, if you are gonna take a big chalk say -200, you gotta be willing to lay the big money, say $200 to win the 100, if you are gonna lay say $120 you are only winning $60, when you would lay $100 on an even money favorite, doesn't make sense. But hell one shouldn't really be playing -200 faves, and an even bigger sucker play is laying the -1.5 runs, the biggest sucker play of all in baseball.
