day 3 or 4 is normally when i give in and take more again, i have a cronic illness i have 240 10mg prescribed every month... ive also taken oxy, hydromorphone, morphine along the way not prescribed.... never feeling like an addict because hey, i have a prescription for pain meds lol, i get the chills bad, crapping like crazy, problems sleeping, anxiety, high blood pressure... going threw a divorce i decided to make some changes... i didnt think i was addicted but i am, because last time i had to wait a couple days for the refile i felt horrible but i thought it was just my depression or my illness or the flu.. the withdrawals are not all that bad it is annoying, but it's so easy to make them go away... also i like the feeling of being on them, honestly this mini hell im going through is getting my mind off the divorce, and thats a good thing, i'm not going to want to re live this so i should be good in about a week.. right now i gotta be a single father and work through this shiit though

    240 10mg of what?

Is this your first time trying to stop after being physically addicted to an opiate?

10mg is the highest dose of Hydrocodone, that has to be it.

Know a guy that takes 15-20 black market per day for 20 years. He'll be dead in a year or two. Won't listen.

take a look at your family tree ... do your parents have a problem with drugs or booze? uncles, aunts, grandparents? if the answer is yes, you're screwed and you should go to a serious treatment facility to learn just how screwed you are. if the answer is no, you'll probably be able to continue on with your job, grind it out and get on with your life.

is yes, you're screwed and you should go to a serious treatment facility to learn just how screwed you are.

    Sad but true.

Treatment facilities give you a 5% advantage over the do it on your own project. Statistical fact.

im fighting for as much custody as our system allows, their mother would have a ball if i went into a rehab, i can do this it's not like i was shooting or sniffing the stuff, but it wasn't just Vicodin, i always have a way to get my hands on other stuff, my prescription is provably 2/3 of what i take... it's crazy it almost falls into my hands... i had a guy get evicted and i was cleaning out as a side job and i find a bottle of hydromorphone with 28 pills in it on a job, i found a bottle of 300 oxy 30's not even touched on jog, a friend of mine gets more liquid morphine than he knows what to do with,  i never went out and bought it

Wasting for days of hard detoxing is bogus . 42 days (chinese) with nothing and you'll be just fine. Don't be a box like my friend who's afraid to feel normal again. Good luck an we're all proud of ya - your son needs you to be there for him.

If ya fall down then get right back up an try again.

If you went to a treatment facility it would be one of the most eye opening week(s) of your life. You would see what hard core heroin addicts were feeling and you'd realize you feel the same way. They'll tell a story and you'll relate to it. Somebody may even tell your exact story and let you know how it ends if you don't get a handle on the problem now. Most importantly you'll recognize that you have a serious problem and they'll show you the solution to that problem.

My guess is that you're in the very early stages and you think everything i just said sounds good but is way over the top for a guy like you.

If you have any questions or want my opinion on something feel free to shoot me a PM at anytime. Good luck.

Some people will read what i just wrote and completely understand what i'm talking about. Other people won't. The people that do understand get a feeling because they understand so much. They call that the transmission line from one alcoholic to another. That's why alcoholics helping other alcoholics is so successful and usually the only thing that works.

Detox, rehab is very expensive as I understand. What about the people that want/need help but cannot aford it?

Seems like a huge obstacle for people to overcome without a wet nurse and a support group.

i think he can live another 25 years just because i know someone who takes 1600 mcg fentanyl sticks, uses a whole case of them every month, sometimes putting 2 of them in his mouth at the same time!

If you really want or need help and can't afford it go to the emgency room, tell them the truth and tell them if they don't help you or get you help you're going to blow your brains out. That will get things started in the right direction.

great idea to suggest, but don't forget about the fight everyday after getting out for the rest of your life.  What was a smoker who has not done so for 12 years?  Once a criminal, always a criminal till the day you are dead.  And if you didn't want to be known as a smoker in the first place then you shouldn't have tried it in the first place.

same goes for popping pills, or being a gambler.  If you want to stop because it's messing with your life, then do it, but just know that it's a fight every single day.  Even if you've stopped smoking for 12 years and can't stand the smell when you walk past someone doing it, you start coughing as proof to yourself that you can never go back, you are wrong.  Keep on fighting everyday and picture the glass in your head always halfway full.

this is a great idea, especially knowing that there really isn't a gun anywhere.  If someone was really serious, even if they had insurance, they can just get the ball rolling first by going to the emergency room

Yep, it's called the good ole 5150.

That or get arrested and the state will treat you. Friggin sad this country.

If I'm a broke junky that's what I would do - one of the two.
