I think the Foo Fighters are 100x better than Nirvana was...

I like Dave Grohl, but The Foo Fighters are a joke compared to Nirvana.  Cobain was a hell of a song writer, as his life experiences and tormented soul brought us some great lyrics.

Foo Fighters better than Nirvana........YFKM...

That is the silliest shit i ever did hear. Its cool if you dont like them, but i think that maybe it speaks to your lack of appreciation for good music. 

Yeah you know who else was average was sublime.....just a average band.

Nirvana was also a true pioneer in there industry as well. Noone  ever heard of grunge music before.......they were complete trend setters and Cobain wrote some fucking amazing music.

Oh, on a side note - seems like his daughter has turned out well staying away from that bitch, Courtney Love.

I agree that kurt did in fact write some really great songs, but was he a great singer? I mean seriously. I think what truely separated Nirvana from everyone was was "I don't care" sound which is what made them popular with Generation X.

They only had 3 albums, Bleech was good, Nevermind was amazing, and In Utero was very good, then they had their unplugged album which was good.

foo fighters will never be nirvana but they are still a good band they've been making hits for almost 10 years if you dont think MY HERO is a classic song theres something wrong with you but you gotta give it to DAVE GROHL how talented is he to be the drummer of nirvanna and queens of the stone age for an album and then be the frontman of his own band as a guitar player he might be one of the most talented people in music

My Hero is probably my least favorite song from FF, probably because it was overplayed so much and in so many movies...

Overall I think Dave Grohl is more talented than Kurt Cobain, I know many people won't agree, but that is just how I see it.

The Foo Fighters first album came out in 1994, so they have been doing it for 17 years...

yeah i also think dave grohl is underrated and is more talented than kurt cobain to play in two different bands and play TWO different instruments is incredible

You forgot about Incesticide.... But I agree there will always be what would have been but nonetheless they certainly have had a significant impact on rock bands today. 

But look at what he was able to accomplish with essentially 5 albums when you count the unglugged one.

Blew off the Bleach record is one of my top ten tunes of all time.

Yorke is the music shaper these days.

"Lake of Fire" was written by the Meat Puppets.  Nirvana covered that song on the Unplugged Album. 

Nirvana and Sublime are 2 of the most influential bands of the 90's.

The Foo Fighters are a pop band that writes 3 chord songs for 15 year old girls.  Nirvana changed the shape of rock and roll.  The Foo Fighters couldnt hold Nirvana's jock strap.

I got news for you Foo Fighter songs are not 3 chord songs. David Ghrol is a very talented musician. Although, they don't come close to Nirvana.

Only a couple of bands in history have changed music forever. Nirvana is one of them. It doesn't matter if you like them or not, you can deny they changed the music scene at the time and for that reason alone they will always be considered to be great.

I agree Dave Grohl is talented.  all I was trying to say was that Nirvana is on a different level than the Foo Fighters.
