read this if you don't think the NBA games are fixed. Like I said on Oct 21, the Refs control the outcome of the games!

SB 40 was a good example of how the refs can control the game.........
Chuck Knox once said, "The calls will even out for you over time...............provided you're around long enough for that to happen".

How long have you been betting GolliAA1? Not all of the games are fixed but there are megabucks involved on certain games. Those certain games are fixed. Yes, you're right I'm one of those guy that like to jump on that right wagon that is hoping for a fix. I can't believe you're posting this crazy thread. The stronger team can control the pointspread or control the game period.

Thanks for agreeing man. Was beginning to feel I was the only one around here with the opinion. Like I stated, point shaving has been proven in NCAA basketball. I'm not saying that doesn't happen. But the cases have been at "smaller" schools that don't get a lot of national recognition. For someone to state that someone from Duke (just a hypothetical situation) is ridiculous and just shows ignorance.

If you don't think oddsmakers are that good, you're going to lose a lot of money in your life. The guys that set the lines are pretty damn good at their job, but sometimes there are lines that are way off. If they continuously had lines that were one sided and losing, they wouldn't be setting lines for long. ![]()

I've been betting for several years now. Seen a lot of the same things that everyone else in the thread has. I understand that there is a bunch of money on one certain game, but for one side of a game to be so highly bet that Vegas gets in on a fix? The only games that would have THAT much action on it would be one of the higher bet games of the year (Superbowl, NCAAB Championship, etc). It's not as simple as one person in Vegas calling the DB for a team and telling him to miss a couple tackles. It doesn't happen that way. Too many people would have to be in on a large level game to be "fixed" and there's no way it wouldn't be publicized.
I dont know what the real number would be, but I'm sure it's pretty big. But what is the amount of money that Vegas would have to have on one side to actually "hurt" the books. The number has to be astronomical. The books would never let the number get there. That's why there are line adjustments to slow down/move action to the other side.

I just want to clarify that I didn't start this thread to state there is no shady business going on in sports. Of course there is. I started this thread after a full day of games and after I refreshed the forum, there were 5 threads with the word "fix" in the title about 3 different games. That's what I find ridiculous.
My point is that if you think sports are fixed, then why are you betting? Unless you're in on the fix (and I'm not talking about this 'inside information' people claim to have on here), you're just taking a 50/50 shot at being on the right side. If you like those odds, take them, but don't post threads complaining afterwards. It gets annoying that "every game is fixed" when you lose. We're already behind the 8-ball when it comes to sports betting, so why does Vegas need another advantage?

have games been fixed? of course.
But the percentage of sporting events that have been fixed is so so so small................
But all the 20 year olds who've never touched a ball in their life, love to blame their losses on the fix. ![]()
