Canada was number 15 on the list of reasons that the Allies prevailed.  It's just fact.  Plenty of countries lost more men then the USA, but I won't let you get away with your 100% bull shit post.

Many more countries played a much bigger role in WW II then the US...that is undeniable.  But Canada was one of the smallest players in the war...period.  That doesn't mean they are bad people, but let's talk facts.  They were 5% of the forces that the allies had in Europe....if that.

I'm Canadian, but live on the US border, so I go to the US on a weekly basis, and I have to say this.

It might be the city I live in, but all Americans I run into are MUCH MUCH friendlier and hospitable than my fellow Canadians.  My fellow countrymen (not all, but I have noticed a large portion) are very snobby/stuck up pricks.  Again, it might be where I live, but this is what I have found.

You must be in the Niagara region because you're definitely not bordering Michigan.  I worked at the border for 3 years and I swear to fucking god every 1 in 10 americans that would show up, you ask them their citizenship and you get answers such as:

1.  Huh
2.  What is a citizenship
3.  Ohio, Michigan, (any other fucking state)
4.  Or they all just look at each other discussing "what is he talking about"

Americans state things that only are true in the bubble world they live in. where everything is made out of candy and the whole world loves the usa. (2) So no one has still answered my question of what does the War of 1812 have to do with Canada?  You were not even a sovereign nation yet.  Last I checked a bunch of peasants with little to no military training beat the best military in the world in 1776.  So sure the British got a cheap shot in when the defenses were down 36 years later.  But guess what no one else has until 09/11.  I call that security.  What do you call it?  The way I look at it if not for the American colonies declaring war on England places like Canada, India, and others would either (1) still be a colony of Great Britain or (2) would have had to fight for their freedom.  How much bloodshed did your countrymen shed to become a sovereign nation?  Or was it earned off the bodies of Americans?  I digress again what does Canada have to do with this?

(3) I will not even get into the fallacy that is your "war record" but answer me this... what is Canada's war record?  That is right you are not asked to fight other peoples battles because why would they?  Besides are we really trying to figure out who won wars?  If you ask me war is a measure of last resort.

(4) Americans were planning on going to war long before Pearl Harbor and would have in due time.  There were plenty of discussions in Congress and by President Roosevelt to declare war long before the cheap shot by the Empire of Japan.  However, if you understood our Constitution the President of the United States can only declare war without an Act of Congress when in self-defense of the country and it is apparent that time is of the essence.  Listen to President Roosevelt's speech again to understand why he said what he said.   That is a fact.  Please understand your history before trying to educate the masses or you just appear ignorant.

(5) I highly doubt you know exactly what the test measures, how the test is conducted, its statistical variance or anything of that nature.  Hell who knows if your statistics are actually accurate.  However, one thing is certain is that Canada being on the border of the United States sure as $hit doesn't have to spend much in way of a national defense.  I am certain if the United States diverted a vast majority of its national defense budget we could improve across the board in a wide spectrum of categories.  Some might say then Canada is still sucking from the tit of the United States.

I will agree with that as I hate NASCAR.  But what about baseball and basketball which are American sports.  Sure you could argue that baseball has it roots in Cricket which is an English sport but basketball is purely American.  Football I will give to Ireland with the precursor being ruby.  But hockey is a fun sport indeed.

You can't generalize all america, each state has it's own dialect, customs and personalities.

Some would argue US was not ask to fight some battles, they choose to for their own reasons.

I normally support the US on most issues including most of their foreign policies, but this thread is going no where.

To be fair to the US for every Canadian who craves the US for electing Bush 2 times, they have elected Harper twice.

  I agree I was hoping to add some fun to this thread, I cant see how it will amount to anything.  Most people love the country they come from and find it hard to admit any faults it may have.
