    Its really simple.

Space, time and matter BEGAN to exist. Prior to this point, Space, time and matter did not exist.

Something cannot come from nothing under naturalism.

Logically, space, time and matter was created from something that was spaceless, timeless and immaterial.

This is a religiously neutral statement. It is the arguments deducted LOGICALLY from this fact is what causes major problems for Atheists..

So much so, you have atheists like Stephen Hawking, Lawrence Krauss and co "labelling" the quantum vacuum as nothing, simply to avoid the problems the argument presents. The quantum vacuum is not nothing, it is a sea of fluctuating energy. Its like me calling my vacuum cleaner, nothing. It is intellectually dishonest.

Furthermore, Atheists posit multi verses, simply to try and explain away the problem of a beginning for them. The reality is, there is NO EVIDENCE for a multi verse....That is not science, that is a collection of nice ideas.

The reality is, I have stated scientific facts regarding the latest Cosmological findings and facts, and I have also deducted logically from these evidences, that is, space, time and matter cannot create itself out of nothing. The cause must be outside of space, time and energy.

I haven't seen anyone debunk this argument, the only thing I have seen thrown around here is insults hurdled at Christians as per title...

Why doesn't Club start a thread about Muslims? person?

You know what, let me just follow Clubdirts and co line of thinking....

Blaming the doctrine of Christianity for the immoral acts of Christians is as logical as someone blaming their drug and alcohol problem on the AA programme.

Seriously, the logic on this forum is so horrible at times that I have more reasonable discussions with my 10 year old nephew and 12 year old niece...

The Theory is that the spaghetti monster created the universe, after he drank alcohol.

Firstly, when the universe began to exist, space, time and matter began to exist. The spaghetti monster is created out of spaghetti, which is matter, but matter began to exist at the big bang. How can the matter of spaghetti exist in a time before matter began to exist?

Seriously, I am stooping to these low levels, is this what Atheism is?

No it's not. People find AA after they are addicts. No one is raised in the AA program. Many Christians, and I am guessing most that commit atrocities in the name of Christ, are raised in the Church.

They don't find Christ after they commit their atrocities in the name of Christ. They commit them while a member of the Church.

Game. Set. Match. We win. Thanks.

First of all. The flying spaghetti monster is NOT testable. And even if you find a way it is. I can create my own god that isn't testable. You're attacking the example, not the underlying idea.

Second. The whole point you were trying to make before you have just shot down. About how we have faith in team A vs team B or plane A vs plane B. If something is testable, it is not faith. God is not testable.  You are right. Therefore, you need faith. Which is fine. No problem with that.

HOWEVER, why would I believe in something that isn't testable? How stupid am I? Believing in something I can never know for sure is true? That seems really dumb to me.

How can you find a link between Christs teachings and committing an atrocity?

David Koresh, The Crusades, ethnic cleansing, the inquisition, anyone that has ever been murdered in the name of Christ.

People interpret that "good book" in many different ways. However, had it never been written, people might actually have to take responsibility for their own actions instead of claiming that their work was in the name of Christ/God.

I hear the Old Testament is pretty brutal btw.

It's not a self defeating argument. You have no idea how anything came to be about in the beginning. None of us do. I don't see why it's so hard to admit that you don't know how anything came to be in the beginning.

What I truly believe though, is that religion has been every bit as detrimental, if not more, than any good than it has been. Especially when you track it back through out the years.

Rostos, you're entitled to think this big thing started however you want. I can't prove you wrong on that. However, you can't prove your opinion on it is correct either. The issue is that you are the one that is making a claim as to how it started, therefore the burden of proof is on you.

If you can prove your claim, then I will admit that you are correct. Feel free to prove it any time.

The flying spaghetti monster is made out of the same "matter" that god is. Seriously, how dumb are you? STOP ATTACKING THE EXAMPLE. Fine. I'll give in. I'll play by your rules.

I believe in a new god, the dancing invisible panda. This panda is eternal. He created the universe. He is not made of any matter because he transcends this world. Let's assume, for the purpose of this hypothetical, that many people agreed with me and believed in the panda. I discovered a scripture with the rules of the panda. They describe how the panda created the universe from nothing (because he is eternal). PROVE ME WRONG.

Do not pick on the specific example because maybe I forgot something. For all intents and purposes, this panda has the exact same characteristics as your "god."

PROVE TO ME HE DOESN'T EXIST.
PROVE TO ME HE DIDN'T CREATE THE UNIVERSE.

is the dancing invisible panda actually the son of the flying spaghetti monster through an immaculate conception?

I mean like... duh... how else does the flying spaghetti monster father a dancing invisible panda other then through an immaculate conception of  the mother of the dancing invisble panda...

I mean two flying spaghetti monsters can't give birth to a dancing invisible panda...  That would be just crazy...

tell me more about the the dancing invisible panda and this new testament...

as a devoted believer of the flying spaghetti monster religion I must correct you...

What spaghetti noodles do you know that flies?

The flying spaghetti monster is made out of noodles that are no ordinary spaghetti noodles that are made out of matter...

I mean these spaghetti noodles fly through the air...  I mean does that sound like normal matter to you?  You have to be crazy to think otherwise and that they are normal noodles made from matter...

here is the reality of the spaghetti monster is that it is an interdimensional being... and that is why it does not follow the general laws of physics in our realm and appears to be flying...

so his physical make up or matter as you refer to it comes from another dimension/alternate universe etc..  and at the same time never really exists in our dimension when he created it...

and he is the gate or gate keeper between realms...  and when he opened the door the universe was created from a singularity expanding in all directions at once...

I hear the Old Testament is pretty brutal btw.

Jesus' central teaching is to love each other, forgive each other, turn the other cheek etc etc.

To then commit atrocities in the name of Jesus is non sequiter.

Its almost like me going out and murdering someone then saying, the Indiana Pacers caused me to do it....

The sad thing in all this, it seems to me that Atheists are buying into these arguments from people who commit these atrocities then saying Christianity caused me to do it.

Committing atrocities in the name of Jesus has as much connection as Atheism has on committing atrocities.

I would like to think people can see this.

The sad thing in all this, it seems to me that Atheists are buying into these arguments from people who commit these atrocities then saying Christianity caused me to do it.

Committing atrocities in the name of Jesus has as much connection as Atheism has on committing atrocities.

I would like to think people can see this.

    see what?

that people used the power and influence of the religion to promote their own agenda? and used the blind faith aspect to get individuals to do horrific things in the name of god...

the bible speaks of betrayal... it speaks of people who become corrupted by power and greed and do horrible things as they know not what they do...

These horrible things are a part of the religion...  that is why it is in the bible and story of the life of jesus...  for you to learn from as it knows it will be present...

The reality is that christianity brings both great peace and hate/aggression/resentment/discrimination etc....

I would like to think people can see this because it is reality...

not an opinion or belief system...  empirically it is neither all good or all bad... It is both and the wisdom of the bible is that it knows this and gives you a road map to get through the twists and turns of life knowing that atrocities and unthinkable cruelty will be present along with the love and forgiveness...

The same cannot be said for atheism... you know why?

    ok... lets try your logic...

    So...

    horse A = Natural
    horse b = supernatural

    so say i simply say it's A...

and you say prove it?  and I say open your eyes and look around you... everything is happening naturally and there is no proof to think anything otherwise... if there was proof we would think otherwise...

try and give me an intellectually honest response
