Seems like there is very little, if any, respect for the dead from some posters in this thread anyways. What would be the harm? Not like he is going to attack you now.

So over 10 witnesses say the cops story is true.  And he suffered a serious fracture of his eye socket.  And we all know he didn't have his hands up when he was shot.  It will be tough to convict the cop.

Could someone please explain what the "protesters" are actually protesting?
No real facts were available when the "protests" started......
And when sharpton offered his analysis, it was clear that there was much more to come in terms of facts- since he is 0 for his lifetime as far as being correct, but rides a 100% record for riling up a community-

And Holder is as inept a sharpton in terms of being right- about anything...
Obama stuck his foot in his mouth regarding Trayvon so I guess Holder is the patsy this time-

Oh, thats where you are wrong. Even if the cop didnt know about the robbery, Mike Brown sure did.....and he wasnt getting arrested quietly.

    So now-
The case goes to a grand jury for consideration of indictment-
But the protesters don't like the prosecutor-who has served in that capacity for years-
At some point, someone is gonna have to stand up and just say- this is the system we have- the are the people YOU (collectively) elected....

I'm sure most people would like to cherry pick their prosecutor - just not how, to my understanding, the system works-

I fail to see how the robbery makes any bit of difference in this. It's all about proving Brown attacked the cops. What happened in the store is irrelevant.

    I agree-
The robbery has nothing to do with the shooting-
I suspect, if this goes anywhere, the defense will try to use it to claim "Big Mike" was already on edge- thereby attempting to explain the alleged aggressiveness toward the officer-

Based on the leaks already out there- you can see that coming.....

I understand that explanation and I understand a lawyer using various tactics to sway a story to their liking. It doesn't matter though. If the evidence comes back that the cop was defending himself then it's pretty cut and dry.

All this talk about the video from the store is irrelevant.

Obviously it shows his belligerent nature when questioned by authority.  He was easily provoked.  Very relevant how you react to situations.  Should be exibit A. Has a past history of shoving someone and then turning back and coming towards them.

First part, yes; second part, no.  Isn't it common practice to show a person's character and past history?  If cop had a bad past I am positive it would be all over by now.

You know him personally or of his history of interaction with police? I had no idea you knew the kid. My condolences.

Exactly. Within hours of his identity, the news had a full profile of the officer. All the while, no one bothered (or bothered to report) on the character/history of the victim, refusing to damage the "he was just a nice young boy" picture they had painted for the public.

In a court of law, character and criminal history carry considerable weight.

    Well...
When the story first broke, we heard that he was a "teddy bear"- gentle young man headed to college this fall-
So I think it's fair to show the other side of Teddy Ruxpin.....
Much like Trayvon- show the picture of him when he's 12- not the one with his guns and weed.....

I'm sure it's common practice but it doesn't do anything to prove the situation. The cop, from what I understand, was a decorated officer and well respected among his peers. Doesn't mean he isn't capable of making a mistake, flipping out, losing control, etc. The same way this "gentle giant" is or isn't capable of the actions listed previously. James Holmes, the movie theater shooter, was a model student and thought to have a "good demeanor".

Point being you can establish behavioral history all you want. All that really matters is what the evidence at the scene of the shooting proves: bullet trajectory, witness accounts (even then these can be subjective), injuries to the officer/Brown, etc.

Yet it does nothing to help prove what happened at the scene of the shooting.

^Just a shame he didn't have a .45 cal. The 1st round to the hand would have spun him around like a top. 2nd shot lights out.

Strong arm rob a convenience store and then attack a police officer and his firearm...... you die in the street.

Brown, having just committed a robbery, is absolutely relevant.  The man just commits a robbery.  He has no idea whether the cop he confronts knows he committed a robbery or not.  In his mind, there is every risk this cop knows he committed a robbery (or matches suspect description) therefore Brown is likely to act like a fleeing felon.  That may very well include a physical or violent confrontation with the cop.  In fact, if the cop didn't know Brown committed a robbery there is a possibility he let his guard down which would not help the situation.  In particular when confronting a guy that just committed a robbery.  In any event, waiting for the facts is better than assessing blame as you have.

........The order of violent tendency by this man establishes his dangerous violent frame of mind and is very much apart of the sequence of events. The grand jury will be presented with this information in detail.
