I don't get your point?  What does that have to do with minimum wage raise?

So--what is it?  How does it explain the rise in prices etc.

Don't fence with me, my friend.

You cannot have stagnant workers wages for thirty-five years while CEO salaries increase by the hundreds fold.  You've reached the END of that road.  I suppose you will be happy when the working class finally scales the walls of the gated communities and starts dragging lifeless CEO bodies through the streets???

The time is late.  A lot later than you realize.

Ok. But that has been going on and been going on and been going on. Right?
Is there a direct correlation to miimum wage pay?
You are talking a few large companies. What about your preferred mom and pop places?  Let's assume that is the ones to look at. How would you see their choices?

Do not compare small businesses the the Corporate Fukks.

    There IS NO comparison.

The Mom and Pop places, small businessmen, realize their priorities.  Somewhere in the top two or three are always their employees.  They understand the simple fact that without employees who actually CARE, there will be no repeat business, the staple of all business.

The Corporate Fukks have zero understanding of my last paragraph.

    ZERO.

You have to compare them. You have to look at the effect the raising of the minimum wage will have on them.  They employee the majority of the people in the country. I know you hate big business. I could care less about that. I'm not trying to discuss them.  I was looking at rising prices and loss of jobs the article was talking about.  I get your point about big business. But that is a completely different subject and discussion.

Rising prices and loss of jobs.  Anyone with half a brain would have seen this coming.  If businesses are paying more in labor cost, of course they're going to raise their prices to compensate for the increase.

    Thanks for sharing Raiders

If you could care less about big business then why did you start a Thread in which Chipotle's was the main subject?

    Go back to sleep Slobbasaurs.

And I am outta this Thread too.

Will soon be outta the entire USA and you guys that think you have all the answers can hold the Fort.  Enjoy Billary for the next eight years.  And enjoy the rioting in the suburbs and the burning of the cities too.  Have tons of fun supporting the 1%ers.

I could care less about that. I'm not trying to discuss them.  I was looking at rising prices and loss of jobs the article was talking about.  I get your point about big business. But that is a completely different subject and discussion.

    GOOSE~~~~~~~~~~OUT

It was the example the guy used along with the comic book store and fast food in general. He tied it in to most businesses. I don't think it is a big business only issue. In fact, I think it affects smaller ones more.
My question to you is still the same:  how do you feel it affects mom and pop?

Go phuck yourself Goose.  I had nothing bad to say about you as I also respect your opinion.

You should be proud that you're a Hall of Famer on a degenerate gambling website for 12.5 years.

    Your kids must be proud

Listen man, I'm tired of bickering w/ people on this site.

If you state your opinion and another poster disagrees, they begin fighting like a bunch of Juveniles.

Raiders posted an article about minimum wage.  Goose disagrees, so he decides to start a little b!tch debate with him.

Don't "fence" with Goose, he's a Hall of Famer.  It's a Gold star on this site.

This site is fun to go on when it's extremely slow at work, as that's what it is this time of year in my profession.

None of you guys will hear from me after October 31st, when busy season commences.

An increase in the cost of production without an increase of production is inflationary and in truth a tax. Everything that is taxed is avoided/elimanated and that results in less employees or passing on the cost of the tax.

Walmart’s low-wage workers cost U.S. taxpayers an estimated $6.2 billion in public assistance including food stamps, Medicaid and subsidized housing, according to a report published to coincide with Tax Day, April 15.

The Walton family made an estimated $91 million PER DAY.

Walmart #1 ranked Fortune 500 company.

The American tax payer is paying Walmarts wages while the Walton's are making $91 million per day.

Detox, you and I understand this, and Goose. But explaining to Raider and a few others is like talking to the wall. Raider will only ask another childish question.

Walmart is not the only business that rape their employees, Hundreds of business have been exploiting of their workers for decades.   They think greed is good.

So don't waste your time on them

The time is late.  A lot later than you realize.

You are absolutely correct. And this coming from a fiscal conservative. I'm not naive to what is going on.

My son was working part time at a major national used auto dealership while going to college. Despite selling over 300K in the 4 months he worked there(part time) he was ceremoniously laid off after the 4th of July because the "slow season" was upon them. God forbid they have to pay a kid $10 an hour when things get a little tight. EFF THEM !

"Those who would destroy or further limit the rights of organized labor--those who would cripple collective bargaining or prevent organization of the unorganized--do a disservice to the cause of democracy." - JFK

I have no idea why people fight against unions.

Wal-mart does not pay minimum wage.  For some areas is actually a step up for a lot of folks.  Not much turnover for a reason.

Correct. That's how it works.  And if MW is 15/hr he may not have gotten hired in the first place.
