Eagles fans need to stop thinking that football games are won at the athletic "skill" positions. Yes you have a ton of athletes, congratulations.
You still have a QB that isn't the most cerebral and has a hard time reading coverages.
You have one good offensive lineman and no depth.
You have a well below average defensive line and your linebacking corp looks like a scrap heap.
Eagles will get dominated up front on both sides of the ball this year. Bet that!
I will address your points one at a time......
Is Vick not the most cerebral QB? Granted.......and yes he could struggle at times this year b/c D's will have had a year to adjust to him. Still a top 10 QB EASY and prob top 5.
One good offensive line-man? No they have several. Jason Peters is a pro-bowler (overrated tho imo) and Todd Herremans is a VERY solid guard, who has graded out well above average for most of his career. They drafted a guy who was widely considered the most NFL ready interior lineman in the draft in Danny Watkins. Right tackle is a question mark b/c of Winston Justice. Not a top 5 line or anything, but hardly only ONE good O-lineman.
I will quote you for this one: You have a well below average defensive line and your linebacking corp looks like a scrap heap.
That is a JOKE. Eagles have Trent Cole who is one of the top 5 pass rushers in the league. They added Jason Babin another double digit sack guy coming off a pro-bowl breakout season. They signed Cullen Jenkins who is one of the best interior pass rushers in the league. Mike Patterson is very solid and Antonio Dixon was very good last year too, to the point that they felt comfortable trading their former starter Broderick Bunkley. Their D-line is WELL above average, you are a fool for making that statement.
And yes their linebackers are weak, but Eagles NEVER put a premium on their linebackers and it is not a position you need to have studs at to win at NFL level.
You are just a hater. Your football analysis is weak, and you clearly lack good NFL knowledge.

Hahahaha, classic. Not even his own team thinks this kid is good enough.
Oh and to further prove how little you know.......
They didn't sign and cut him........he caused problems and left:
Free agent RB Noel Devine reportedly "walked out" on the Eagles.
Devine
was waived on Saturday, but apparently "left the squad on his own." If
true, it would raise an immediate red flag for any potential future
suitors. The deck is already stacked against the under-sized (5-foot-8,
170 pounds) back, so it would be a shame if he gave teams another
serious reason to overlook him
Again, learn to actually research your BS before posting.

and before you say how Danny Watkins isn't proven blah blah and wasn't drafted high enough or whatever to be considered good yet:
Coach Andy Reid confirmed that first-rounder Danny
Watkins is expected to step in as an immediate starter, likely at right
guard.
"Danny, he's ready to go," Reid said.
"... Physically and mentally he's ready to step in and take on a
starting spot." We're seeing more and more reports from scouts and
coaches that Watkins was the best interior lineman in the draft,
superior to No. 15 overall pick Mike Pouncey
Eagles selected Baylor OG Danny Watkins with the No. 23 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Perhaps the most interesting back-story in the draft,
Watkins is a 26-year-old former firefighter and hockey player from
Kelowna, British Columbia. The Eagles could have traded up or back, but
it looks like they had been targeting Watkins all along as an immediate
upgrade on the offensive line. A two-year starter at left tackle for
Baylor, Watkins figures to step in for Max Jean-Gilles as a rookie
starter at right guard. An extremely hard worker, it would not surprise
us in the least if he outplayed No. 15 pick Mike Pouncey over the next
couple of years.
Watkins is gonna be a stud, you watch.

I think my British friend Neil Hornsby has done the fans of the hidden
game of football a good service with his deep analysis of players on
profootballfocus.com. The site tracks every player's plays in the
league, and its finding of who actually is playing well and who isn't is
often a surprise. On Sunday, after the Eagles signed an invisible guard
named Evan Mathis, Neil came out with this gem: Mathis has played 724
snaps over the past two years and allowed zero sacks.
Ok I'm done busting up your weak arguments. It was fun playing though, try and bring some credible arguments next time k?

I can tell you know 1/32 of the game, that's the Eagles. You're a fuckin homer, getting your dick all hard cause the Eagles are doing everything that the media gets excited about. Go ahead and bite, we'll see come season time.
Right now you are a fantasizer, a hopeful, a dreamer. Well dream in one hand and shit in the other. We all know which is gonna fill up first.

Can't reply with solid arguments or analysis. Resorts to childish name calling. Wouldn't expect ANYTHING less. hahaha TOO funny that you have NOTHING tangible to say, b/c you realize that you are in over your head in terms of NFL knowledge here. Eagles with a BELOW average D-line!?!?!?! HAHAHA really.......do the Colts have a below average QB too? Steelers linebackers below average? Whats next?

Arguing with you about how good you think your team will be is senseless. Can't debate someone who has rose colored glasses.

Lol if you look back through my posts, I haven't said ONE thing along the lines of "Eagles are a lock to win SB" or "Eagles are the best team ever"
All I am doing is discrediting the BLATANTLY false statements you are making. The fact that you think the Eagles D-line is below average indicates one of two things:
1. You are a biased hater 2. You know nothing about football
oh actually option 3: 1 and 2 both........yeah that seems like it. Sad Cowboys fan who hates on Eagles great off-season, and to boot proves his ignorance with HILARIOUS statements like "Eagles don't have a good D-line" . Comical really....

You aren't busting up anything, you are legend in your own mind. Stop it or do something serious like bet me $5000 on 6:1 odds that the Eagles don't win it.

Ok sure lets bet $5000 as strangers over the internet. Sounds REALLY logical and easily handled right?
You got any more great deflection techniques to try and skirt the fact that all the "analysis" you offered was basically garbage? Name calling..........sarcasm...........offers of phantom wagers (Which im sure now you'll start calling me out about how I'm some broke dude with no money to bet to further try and get away from your original points)
Lol the $5000 fake internet strangers on a forum wager.......why not just leave this thread if your responses are gonna be this laughably pathetic?

this is getting boring. I feel like I'm arguing with a 14 year old high school chick who happened to grab her dad's copy of Sports Illustrated that day, and possibly watched Skip Bayless for an hour on Sportsnation that day.
Regurgitation of other people's opinions w/o any sort of credible statistics, arguments or facts to back it up is just woefully pathetic man.

Yeah I'm pathetic....you started a thread boasting about the signing of Noel Devine. This tells me two things....you evaluate NFL talent different than I do because a guy that runs a 4.3 forty and has a couple Barry Sanders like highlights does not overcome the fact that he was passed on by EVERY OTHER fuckin team and he can barely spell his name. He's a fuckin idiot - one of the worst Wunderlic scores of all time. You base your merit on stupid shit that doesn't translate to winning NFL football games.

1. I didn't start this thread.......so once again.......you're dumb 2. I didn't ask the forum if I'm a box for not asking her out........I asked if the diff between 27 and 19 is a bit much in their opinion....AFTER I had already gotten her #..........so yet again.......you're dumb.
Seriously do you have like a little bit of a mental deficiency? Not like full on handicapped or anything, but I could picture you being in some of the slower classes in high school. You seem to have a hard time understanding things you read.

You lose the argument. The word "upside" was never used in regards to Sanders. He was expected to be a stud from day 1 and he delivered. The same wasn't said of R. Salaam. Give it up.
And your team of choice is The Vikings? Home to the Quarterback Geriatric Set.
Let me see. If memory serves, they brought back Tommy Kramer right before retirement, then got Jeff George right before retirement, Randall Cunningham right before retirement, Brad Johnson, right before retirement, Brett Favre right before retirment, and what did the genius' do recently? Donavan McNabb...right before retirement. Then the genius OC was quoted as saying McNabb had a decent start last year until his offensive line fell apart at Washington. What the hell does he expect out of that shitty offensive line the Vikings have?
Maybe they should call Fran Tarkenton and see if they can get his scrambling abilities back.
Idiots...

If the Eagles dont win the SB this season will be a disappointment for them.
According to most of these Eagles fans they've already won it. I remember when Daniel Snyder did this same thing and signed a bunch of big names for the Redskins. They were suppose to be a "dream team" and there was tons of hype. They didn't even make the playoffs.

I'd say the biggest difference is Vick. His talent is limitless and he may finally have his head screwed on straight.
The next biggest difference is the talent level of Asom..., and DRC. These are guys are in the top 4 players for their position in the league. Revis and Charles Woodson are the other too and are older and more injury prone.
This team is going to score the same as last year, maybe slightly better due to experience. It is gonna be exceedingly difficult to match scores now with all the danger in the backfield.
Now there is a situation where any turnover by the opposing team could be fatal. DRC have opps for interceptions that he normally wouldn't. This is all without mentioning Asante Samuels. He is a big TO guy too.
To beat the eagles will be tantamount to running across the 38th parallel between North and South Korea, avoiding all the mines and crossfire from either side. Just one slip up and it is likely over.

If you want to shit on someone for their football knowledge, don't say you don't need stud linebackers to win in the NFL when you are now going to run a Tampa 2. They are the most important piece

You are just a hater. Your football analysis is weak, and you clearly lack good NFL knowledge.
If you want to shit on someone for their football knowledge, don't say you don't need stud linebackers to win in the NFL when you are now going to run a Tampa 2. They are the most important piece

Hmmm Indianapolis has been running Tampa 2 for years and their linebackers are usually rather non-descript. Clint Session, Phillip Wheeler, David Thornton, Gary Brackett (whom might have made like 1 pro bowl), Freddie Keiaho, Pat Angerer etc.......
And I believe the Eagles will use some principles of Cover 2 this year, read that they were gonna transition somewhat to that style, but I seriously doubt their entire defense will be based around a Cover 2. They will probably incorporate some packages and principles of the Cover 2 at certain times. I could be wrong....but I think they will still play LOTS of man and bump and run.

Eagles still the team to beat? How are all those "playmakers" doing for you? How's that soft ass O-line I told you about in preseason? How's that all athlete, no brain QB of yours doing?
Bumping this shit, while the Eagles battle the Colts for the rights to Andrew Luck.
Douchebags!
