imo you have to be a scum bag to be a bookie. One of my best friends paid his way thru college being one shaking down his friends the whole time. Gambling is a disease for some people. People chase and you get into way too many awkward situations. I bet you were well liked on campus. The asshole bookie taking peoples bar money away. Pure scum to be a college bookie. Yes, you will rebut with something like I'm a scumbag bc i've banged hookers,stiffed a bookie, cheated on a girlfriend, etc. You might be right, but it takes one to know one

take some responsibility for your life and stop blaming bookies, your girlfriend, the hooker, your alcoholism and drug addictions for your condition. you make choices and those choices result in your condition. no more. no less. look within....

A real bookie would have a hard time being as soulless and emotionally destitute as an online book.


An online book will never not take your action or tell you to stop. I guess a real bookie can let you get in over your head, but still they would have a tough time to be even close to an online book.

I don't know how to argue with your skewed logic. All I'm saying is I've done some shitty things in my life and I could never be a college bookie. I can understand being a bookie for older dudes who have jobs, but most college kids are unemployed students who can barely afford alcohol on the weekends. I'm sure you were well liked on campus. No one respected you bro....not even your parents. I know mine would call me out on being a scum bag if I was a bookie amongst my college peers.

You missed the point entirely, u slow or something? I get that impression.

No, a physical pharmacy/ liquor store/bookie is not soulless.


But, an online pharmacy/liquor store/bookie is soulless in both senses.  Why did they crack down on online gaming/pharmacies? Because they supported abusers indefinitely, no human aspect involved. (online pharmacies more so than gaming, but same concept)



 Idea being the physical version might tell you to stop, but the online version, devoid of any conscience due to the virtual environment, will serve you to death indefinitely.

I'm saying the human bookies ain't so bad in comparison to the online version.

ive had 3 locals. 1 threatened violence once. dude was like clint eastwood. hard as a rock, salty, mean, old, grumpy. the deadbeat said leave me alone or ill go to the cops. that ended it. the other 2 havent had any problems, but both make sure to only have legit customers... i brought my current local his best customer. when i did, i said if he doesnt pay i will. otherwise he wouldnt have taken his bets.

i was a small little book 15-25 guys and i wouldn't take anything more than a $20 bet from my good friends. i'd give em to the guy i use. i anwered phones for him when i was 14-18 before the computers took over. he wouldn't chase anyone unless it was a big guy ... a guy that would bet 1000+ ea bet = big guy. and he would never use violence. this guy had thousands of clients. the most he would do was call you into his office and work out a payment plan with him.

he got busted by the feds. the feds couldn't get one person to testify against him .... not one. people even did time instead of testifying. politicians wrote letters saying how much he has helped the community blah blah ... because he really did. the guy was found not guilty and didn't go away. he had to pay a big fine ,,,

i guess the moral of the story is ... if you're a piece of shit book, your clients will beat you and if shit ever hits the fan .... there will be plenty of people to testify and smirk at you from the stand .... and most importantly, cops don't care about bookies ... but they do care about people getting beat up.

that's it these days ... if you have 50 good guys and 1 guy beats you ... who cares ... no more action from him unless he pays and move on.

a good book has good clients. good clients pay. so, a good book rarely faces this problem.

anyway, time for an update. i told my douche bookie that he can lick my balls, and i'm never painting his skanks house.  Good advice fromn you guys threatening the feds, which I did - the big vein in his forehead popped out and he looked like he wanted to strangle me, but he quietly drove off from the CVS parking lot - haha! box! and i got to keep the nickel i won from my new book.  God bless him! In fact praise the wonder and power of the lord jesus christ, my personal savior!
