Personally I think Williams is threatened by Bryant (and he should be) and was basically trying to mark his territory.
Yeah that was mhy point. I guess I can see how when just reading the plain text my statement could have been taken as a real question. I meant it not as a question but rather a statement. BOL!

STRONGLY DISAGREE with your statement. I have heard of about a half dozen times of rookies refusing to pay their dues like they are so much better than the rigors of the NFL. Guess what NOT ONE person NOT ONE SINGLE person is still in the NFL. I am certain that perhaps several made less noise and are doing fine I am just talking about the ones I recall. In life everyone has a boss. If you think you don't then you are a slave to your own ignorance.
I agree that Dez already made a bad decision. Couple that with his dumb decision in college the man has already cost himself millions and perhaps he is working is way out of the NFL. Bad move indeed!
So your saying cause he didn't go along with the hazing... he won't make it in the NFL? Have to say, that was a strong number of people in your poll... 6? If you really belive that because the so called 6 others didn't make it, that's why it was a bad idea for Dez not to carry those pads... your a beauty!
I'll say it again, I'd say "fuck you... you carry my pads" that would send a HUGE message to the guy... who just happens to be the guy who is fighting for the same job as Dez... and has not shot of winning that battle!

Ah NO! The six people that I can recall off the top of my head were prima donas just like Dez. They didn't know what it takes to be on a team, apparently at this point neither does Dez. They thought they were better than everyone else... what do you think Dez is saying by not being a part of the same hazing BS that even Peyton Manning went through? I could go on and on but apparently you haven't played football and would not know what it is like being a part of a team. This type of $hit is call teaming building but of course he doesn't want to be a part of that team. We will ultimately see who is right and who is wrong about this but this is a very dubious beginning for Dez Bryant. Thank God he is a Cowboy!

Jeez, this has been going on forever. Just do it. Be thankful it's not like the old days where they'd tape your naked ass to the goalposts.
I absolutely think Dez'll be better than Roy but Dez's still a rookie he should've just done it. It's big news now if he carries his pads then it's a nothing.
Of course this is the same moron who tried to get an interviewer in trouble for asking if Dez's mom was a prostitute immediately after Dez told the interviewer that his dad was a pimp and his mom worked for his Dad so acting with any intelligence seems well beyond this poor guy's grasp. The Cowboys sure didn't draft him for his brain; I'm just hoping he can play.

seems like a lot of you never played sports competitively. You get hazed when you are the rookie and you have to take it like a man knowing that it is a tradition and you will be hazing soon enough yourself. Dez is a tool. Roy Williams is nothing special....big deal. He is still entitled to haze the rookie.

I would have done the same thing... fuck that "rookie" shit... in fact.. I would have told him to fuck off... then MADE him carry mine! I'm guessing Dez is alot like me... hate to be "told" what to do.
It's a "Right of Passage" for all rookies since football began. Dez is a bitch for thinking he's above the tradition. I'm sure the lineman (and the rest of the team) have William's back.
If Dez doesn't smarten up and quit acting like a DIVA he'll be washing the entire team's jocks by hand. Either that or he'll get a bar of soap jammed up his ass in the showers.

I think it is matter of maturity and not acting like a 8th grader who has problems with being "told" what to do...
Thats why you are not in the NFL... Playing in the NFL requires some respect and reverence... He is choosing to play in the NFL where there is standard of conduct for rookies in terms carrying pads (2-3 lbs)
All hall of famers did it, Does this guy think he is better then jerry rice or Michael irvin?...
Even guys like moss, TO and ocho cinco who are seen as WR divas did it...
Dez makes himself look like someone that lacks maturity, sense of humor and cannot adapt/suck it up and get the job done...

nobody likes to be initiated, some get of lightly while others take a beating. Carrying pads is not that big of a deal I would have done it no problem. Now getting tied to a flag pole or some crazy hazing I would fight till the death.

Yep. Be a part of the team and play along. He is alienating himself from the team and will pay for it.

Yup. And then you would've been tied to a goalpost or have your clothes burned.
You think the rest of your teammates would've sided with you, the rookie?
You obviously have never played organized sports.

If bryant was asked by any other player i would have a problem with him saying NO!
It was roy williams?
Bryant should carry romo's stuff and the o-line! Williams is afraid of bryant taking his spot!
That is how I feel. Now I am a Cowboys fan and hate the worthless Roy Williams so maybe I am biased in saying I like what Dez said. I understand tradition and all that but Dez is looking to take Roy's job so obviously Roy feeling threatened wanted to look like the big man on campus and tried making him carry the pads. Funny how we have not heard any other Cowboys come out and say Dez was in the wrong. Now if Dez did that to one of the vets who actually produces for the team it would be another story. But in all seriousness these are grown men why are they acting like they are in high school with this childish crap? Grow up. Now carrying pads is not a big deal but like somebody else said if he refuses this they just up the ante of childish acts to do. Have the rookie take the O-Line and QB out for dinner or something and say welcome to the team we do not need these athletes acting like teens and tying their teammate to the uprights or the other absurd crap they do.

Seems like you just might have been cleaning and unjamming in your past... lol... almost sounds like your speaking from your days in sports.

Well maybe if I was 5'4" 113lbs like you ... maybe that would have happened... but when I was in 9th grade I was 6'5" 225... and no-one hazed me.
Hazing went out in the 60's and 70's... that shit is old news!
That's it? Congrats. Nobody hazed you in H.School. Big whoopty whoo. That's a little boy in the NFL. You pull that shit around grown men and you would've gotten your ass beat and kicked out of the league.
Hazing is still going on. Get a clue
