I'll say it again: YOU have NO RESPONSIBILITY to tell a casino how to run a game, and have EVERY RIGHT to bet any amount just as they allow you to on any attempt, as long as you are playing within the rules of the game with the tools they provide you to play.

This has to be one of the most bizarre threads in covers history. 

People go to a casino to WIN.

They wait for others to get up from slot machines so they can hit when they are 'due' (laughable but true).

They look at the roulette board and track red and black and high and low to determine their next bet.

They read the program at the sportsbook for horse and dog racing.

They look for 'lucky' dealers in blackjack.

Everything is about 'an edge' within the rules of the game.

This was within the rules.

One if the keenest eyes in all of gambling saw a manufacturing defect.

That is BRILLIANT.

And here comes Bill to say, "Mr. Casino, you aren't taking my money effectively or fast enough. Here's how you need to change your game to do that." 

How are they cheating? Nobody forces people to play. The games favor the house and its known when you walk into the place.

So - can everyone who wants to get a license to run a casino?  Wait for it.....  NO.   What happens when people who want to run their own casino do it without a license?  Wait for it.....  THEY GO TO JAIL.

So while nobody has a gun to their head to play at a casino, the customer who wants to gamble sure has a different set of choices than say going to grab some food for dinner.  You see - if restaurants followed the gambling model - there would be only about 10 of them and you would be forced to eat what they served - and if you opened up your own - you would spawn the full wrath of the govt.

So maybe the "for profit" business you speak of isn't necessarily set up to fail.  And maybe the "for profit" business you speak of has an inherent advantage over everyone who goes in there because the govt sets them up to have it.

The comparison of casinos to movie theaters, amusement parks, carnivals, or video game rooms is silly.

Wow..This guys logic is a little coo coo, to say casinos are equal to movie theaters.   Wow I can't follow that logic. Theaters give you entertainment for 10 bucks. But casinos will get you drunk on free beer and take everything you own and your house, trust me they have done this.

Young people go there thinking they can pay the rent but wind up being evicted.

I DO NOT want the government setting prices and I do not want monopolies to be allowed. (AT&T was a monopoly broken up by the government. No corporation should be a sole source provider)

Really, you do not grasp why casinos are licensed? Verses if you want one just open one concept... Before I can say more... I really would like to know if you think there should be any type of licensing for a casino OR should people just open one because they want to? So, how about it... Should licenses be required?

Casino sell entertainment... Not a tangible product. (I am making the assumption you will know what tangible is..) Casino sell excitement and the thrill of a game of chance. Restaurants sell food. A product that you can place in a bag and taken home.

How exactly can a restaurant follow a casino model? What specifically is a "casino model" (your phrase)???

If you don't eat what the restaurant serves, what would you eat in a restaurant?

At least where I live restaurants are licensed and inspected by health inspectors...

I am really impressed you get that a "for profit" business is NOT set up to fail. Someone going into business verses the govt setting somebody up in business... Think about it... Someone who has an investment will always have an advantage over someone who is handed a business with NO investment...

They all sell... Entertainment... It would do no good explaining the similarities since I imagine you already KNOW they have no commonalities... Sadly you would have to have an open mind... 

Young people over 21 go there hoping that they can win the rent money for their apartment, or mortgage payment. In many cases they have children to support.

The proliferation of gambling casino's are one of the main reasons for the breakdown of the American family.

Vegas has been trying to portray a family image, what a joke. The place is full of prostitutes, thieves, especially at the top..

So when I hear of people winning money from them, owners like Wynn and Trump will get no sympathy from me.

Great Randy,, good luck in Vegas I hope you bust them for thousands. But you'll realistically you'll probably come home a little lighter in the pocket because the house is stacked against you.
