"To answer your first question - YES I AM. In fact, your vatican has
killed more people through the "no birth control" in africa than
terrorists ever have. No comparison. NOT EVEN CLOSE."
It amazes me that you can state this seriously. It speaks to your mindset. The vatican may preach something, that DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE KILLING PEOPLE. No one has to listen to them. And even still, its utterly ludicrous that you are still making the comparison. On one hand, we have a mass murderer. On the other, an org. preaching something. You believe that since many die from aids that its dispositive that the vatican is to blame. That's so ridiculous its not worth arguing. One person actively kills. The other is preaching something that YOU BELIEVE is the cause of death. Sorry, no comparison. BTW if abstinence was actually practiced, there would be no aids problem in Africa. The fact is, NO ONE IS FOLLOWING THE VATICAN'S STANCE. Stop trying to lay the blame elsewhere.
"And yes, the world would be 100 times better without religion and with more practicality."
Ah yes, the 'ol age of reason. Wouldn't it be more practical to wipe out invalids and mentally handicapped? It would save people a lot of trouble and money, etc. Euthanasia seems pretty practical. How about that? Wouldn't it be more practical to just simply ship the homeless and destitute off to some deserted island? Hell, kill them too. Practicality is not the savior you think it is.

Wow, this thread has really gone off on a tangent!
First as much as I agree with vanzack, Clubdirt, and others I have to say well done to Platypus
I also think we have gone way off subject and I think I helped in that somewhere up there.
I believe searchwarrant was annoyed by the born again christians and how they always wanna shove their way of life down your throat. These people suck ass. I'm happy they found something that makes them feel good about themselves, but I got my thing so you do yours.
Things I know for a fact: 1. Religion was the bottom line of every major war throughout history. Except for the Trojan war which was about a peice of ass, and Brad Pitt stabbed somebody in the neck or something.
2. Nobody messes with The Jesus
3. They're all pink on the inside or, They all float down here.. whatever works for you.
Can we all agree that this is pretty morbid.

"We certainly can not continue for long with the exponential rate of growth of knowledge that we have had in the last three hundred years. An even greater limitation and danger for future generations is that we still have the instincts, and in particular the aggressive impulses, that we had in cave man days.
Aggression in the form of subjugating or killing other men and taking their women and food has had definite survival advantage up to the present time. But now it could destroy the entire human race and much of the rest of life on Earth.
A nuclear war is still the most immediate danger but there are others such as the release of a genetically engineered virus. Or the green house effect becoming unstable."
Always liked this passage from a lecture that Stephen Hawking gave.
