What is this post all about ?? Don't bash them till you learn more about them. I know quite a few of born again christians and i wish i could be even 30% of how some of these people run their lives. Some of them are very very good people. I mean it's hard to know what they do behind closed doors just like anybody else but the people i know live good solid christian lives. They help charities and do a lot for their communities. It takes a very strong person to become a Christian but some of these people take it a step beyond. Years ago i bashed these people but i cannot now.

i know a guy who goes to his bible studies every week, donates a lot of time to the church, but beat his family for over twenty years, everyone at "church" thinks he's a saint. biggest piece of shit i know. if i ever found out he touched any of his family again i'd clean the street with his bible loving face.

Truth be told a friend of mine long ago had very serious drug problems and absolutery terrorized people for many years. She was "Baptized" recently as a Christian (hell no I didn't attend)..... now everything is ok?

Reminds me of when I was back in high school, my friend who went to a church that had a lot of born again teenagers had these group meetings every Tuesday night run by this supposed cool older guy group leader, around 30-35 I think. Met the guy a few times and he seemed a little off to me and a little too buddy buddy with the kids and wanting to take kids out to lunch and hang out, etc. Turns out he got busted a couple years after that for molesting a few of the teenage boys. Wasn't surprised at all. Everyone at that church thought the guy was this great guy who donated so much time to the church and helped the kids. Me and my other friend who also met him a couple times weren't surprised in the least.

Terrible post. One of the more judgmental ignorant posts I have read on this site. The number of other posters supporting this baffles my mind and shows me the character of people that seem to reside on this forum. Its a shame, because I have seen some great posts, and seen many examples where you guys rose above being degenerates, but this is pretty ridiculous.
I am not saying I would stand behind 100% of the born again christians, but saying 99% have no need to "own up to the carnage they left in their wake" is like saying 99% of Muslims are terroists because of some of the high profile representatives that were, or saying 99% of blacks are gang banging thugs, or 99% of southerners are racist KKK members.
There are plenty of examples of born again Christians who have really changed their lives and found something you could only dream of. Not everyone was "born perfect" like you searchwarrant. Life is a journey, and some people battle addictions early in life before they get themselves on the right path. Josh Hamilton is a perfect example. The man completely changed his life, and I have all of the respect in the world for him. So he messed his life up for 5-6 years on drugs. Many people take that route and never recover. He was able to overcome that. Should he never be forgiven for mistakes he made in the past? Have you never made mistakes?
Obviously this was just some rant you made on an internet forum. This is my response. We are each entitled to our own opinion, but I think you making statements like you did says a lot about the type of person you are. And no, I am not a born-again christian, in fact, I would barely say I even qualify as a christian outside of going to church at Christmas and Easter. But I am just so sick of everyone in this country bitching, whining, and moaning about everyone else under the sun when they should really be taking a moment to be self-reflexive and realize that they are far from the perfect person they think they are.
