I’m stupid? Why would critical listening play a factor in this convo? Listen do what you want . . .just please keep you liberal shit under control . .
You want to vote for Obama? Fine
You want Gay marriage? Fine
You feel this war against terror is not justified? Fine
But please, when it comes to religion . . . just shut

You have to live your life by some type of religion...
Well I'm here buddy. I have a successful career, I lead a great life, great family, and guess what? It's completely secular. So no. I don't need to live my life with a religion. I don't need anyone to dictate my morals to me. I can be a good person without being told. I can be happy not knowing what happens after death. In fact it's more inspiration to enjoy and lead a good life.
This has nothing to do with the fact that I am a liberal. I know conservatives that are the same way. This is not a political issue.(Even though US Republican party loves to make it one.)
If you can't handle reality as we perceive it (using logic) then you are weak IMO. And sometimes people experience some awful things in life and are beaten down and cling on to religion as a crutch. And that is unfortunate but that does not change the hard truth. The hard truth is that we do not know anything. And that religion's are there to keep weak people in order and to explain things in life that were or are unknown.
I never said the "rest of the world is stupid" (n'or has anyone else.) There are millions of people like me and who agree with what I've said.

So the curiosity of what will happen after you die is a big void? You have to live by some type of religion . . .you have to have some type of faith . . .
Again, everyone can choose whatever way they want.
Everyone lives with a sense of insecurity . .
By you stating that you have a “great life” is a red flag of insecurity . .
Everything we do fits the mold!
-Unless you live in the woods and walk around naked.
This argument can go on and on.
The laws we live by today were built on the foundation of religion.
There has to be a higher power out there, there has to be some type of power . .

We will always be curious. There is no way we can find out. I have no faith per se. I choose to lead a good life, work hard, etc. I do not worship anything in particular.

Ok you're losing me... I'm not sure what you mean.
The laws we live by today were built on the foundation of religion.
You are correct. Religion was a great way to explain the world to people back in old times. It was also a great way to give people morals and a way to live their life. But these days we should know better. We should realize that we shouldn't have to be told what to think. We shouldn't be told what god is or isn't because no one knows anything for sure.
The bible was a great resource (and rule book) for the israelites to live by around 2000 years ago. Does that mean everything in it is true? Of course not. The only part I will concede that is true is that there was a leader of the person. There is historical evidence to prove that. But everything else? Pure mythology.

Who created this foundation of religion? Who established the morals and laws of the bible?
- God
You say you live a good life –
You live a good life in what sense? The sense that you obey the laws of society? That you fit in society’s mold? Society was created by religion.
Granted everything in the Bible is obviously not true. But think a little out of the box.

what if i choose the extremist muslim position like bin laden? is that ok for you?
did religion create society or did society create religion?

Clubdirt,
“Out of what box should Nascar be thinking?”
Religion is not just the local church down the street. It is the fundamentals of society and of culture.
Someone created these laws! Who did is the question?
Society is based on the fundamentals of laws which were created by the foundation of religion.
Religion created laws . .laws created society . .

Religion is not just going to church. It is living your life in a honest and good way.
The concept of “thinking out of the box” refers to some of the stories of the bible.
The creation of the world is a perfect example. The story of Adam and Eve is a perfect example of the establishment of family values. The cementing of the relationship between a man and women.

what if i choose the extremist Muslim position like bin laden? is that ok for you?
You can do what you want . .The Muslim culture runs hand in hand with the Muslim religion. Taking an example of bin laden is foolish. No where does it say in the Koran that killing innocent women and children is justified. The views of bin laden are of his own, not of the Muslim religion.

Who created this foundation of religion? Who established the morals and laws of the bible?
Men.
You live a good life in what sense? The sense that you obey the laws of society? That you fit in society’s mold? Society was created by religion.
Society is constantly influenced by religion. This is obvious. But no. Religion did not build society. Religion is man made.
Granted everything in the Bible is obviously not true. But think a little out of the box.
Take some of your own advice.

Please . .educate me on how men established the fundamentals of society . . .tell me
Religion did not build society. Religion is man made.
Explain . . .please . . .I am just a poor fool . .please educate me . .

Read up on what a jihad is. And for what it's worth the Koran is loaded with violence. The bible has it's crazy violence as well.
Don't try to absolve religion from Bin Laden's motives. He didn't knock down those towers for money.
