Im sure in this show, they didn't act out those fun scenes of baby killing, rape, and slavery.

I agree with the original poster. Hollywood should make an actual bible movie and not cherry pick what gets put in it. Lets see those genitals that look like horses, and emissions like donkeys! Lets see some of that slave trading - or maybe a good old fashioned stoning (all god approved of course)!! Maybe we can see a few women who cant talk to their husbands or teach their children. And maybe we can actually see how Noah got all of those animals to behave with each other, and collected over 1 billion species of insects (Im guessing butterfly net).
Im all for this. How can we get this done?

I'm 51 and in the last 2+ years have started gaining knowledge from Bible study. Many, many more concepts than just the commandments I do admit. I have an answer to that.
How about the entire paradise looks like Augusta National?
I would like to learn how to explore the universe, play drums like Neal Peart, master an infinite number of instruments.
Think of the freedom. Do you really belive that your "free" in this life?
We're enslaved with bodies that breakdown, mental issues, stress, governments, etc. etc. etc.
The belief is that all that goes away. No disease, no government, no "accidents", nothing of the sort. Now you can believe that when you die that lifes over, I just don't. Bible states "the meek shall inherit the earth". I like that.

I posed this question to some spiritual friends of mine. The problem is our paradigm doesn't fit into a perfect system. In a perfect system you won't be bored. The earth is to be returned to a paradise. It's impossible to wrap your brain around that concept, but we weren't designed to live as we do today. You'll never have to ask anyone "How their doing?" - you'll already know.
I agree that it sounds crazy but the Bible is full of prophecies that all have come true. The meek shall inherit the earth. When I first heard that, my response was the the meek inherit lint. I think differently know after a lot of studying.

It's the greatest book ever written and if you would live by it, you'd have a much better chance of being happy in life.
For instance where does stealing, lying, cheating on the wife, etc. get you? Possible jail time or guilt time? The bible is a roadmap to live a clean life, all the haters should at least investigate it. Even if you don't believe in The Bible, the show is at least great entertainment and well done.

I watched it and found "The Bible" to be very interesting. No one will have the same exact interpretation of the Bible from page one, to the last pages of Revelation. People will always disagree with certain view points. I watched the 10 hour series, found it interesting, and to some degree educational.

I didn't watch the show...had enough brainwashing via 12 years of Catholic education. Thankfully I was able to learn to think for myself and not blindly follow what was presented to me as morality.
I do find it funny that this miniseries has its own book. In essence there is a book that was made into a TV show that has its own book about the series.

Sounds like it is similar to the history channel and other networks that produce shows about the prophecies of end times by the mayans or nostradamus... but because of the nature of the program appears to have a much higher "wacko factor" to it...
Probably a good show if you take it for what it really sounds like it is... problem is that there is a probably a large number of people that dont... so with this along with obama look alike... it sounds like alot "wacko factor" to me... but thats just what this thread seems to be displaying

Funny DL, it didn't even cross my mind that the devil resembled Obama until after I heard about it. It's a slight resemblance and I'll bet it was unintentional.
I'm not questioning your belief system nor do I have any problem what you believe as long as it wouldn't harm anyone. It's still a free country to believe in what you wish to. I was responding to those 2 inhumane pieces of garbage from Columbine that right some b.s. down and somehow you enter them into this discussion. It doesn't fit.
The show is about The Bible. It follows the stories very closely. People that I know who are biblical scholars say it follows it very closely. Ain't no wacko factor here.
The only thing they had a problem with was when Moses parts the Red Sea. The story goes that 2-3M people crossed it meaning it had to open real wide for this to happen. It's not depicted like that on the show. Watch the show and make your own judgments.
