I could finish Arkanoid and Street Fighter 2 with one quarter no problem. Logged a few hours on those machines to say the least.

I liked Mike Tyson's punchout a lot and I was also a fan of the Track and field game for nintendo that came with the powerpad. It was a 3 game cartridge that had Mario bros, duck hunt and track and field. I used to jump off to the side of the powdrpad for long jump and I would hop back on after about 5 seconds or so and that would give me a huge jump

The original Nintendo Super Tecmo Bowl? Anyway, I loved playing the 1991 Houston Oilers. The run & shoot, awsome. In my world of neerdyness, I would keep track of my stats (still have the notebooks). I would run the kick-offs & punt returns backwards as close to the goal line as possible to have more yardage for the offense to rack up. by the time the playoffs & super bowl came around my players were spent and I would always lose to the Giants. No matter though, I ony gave a do-do about regular season stats. Neat!!

i would always stiff one of the horses by cracking him with the whip leaving the starting gate and betting on the others. Was a decent game. Also liked the poker and blackjack game with the shifty-eyed dealer.

NBA Jam was one of the greatest and funnest games of all-time, especially for someone who loves the NBA.
At the time, the graphics were cutting edge.

Dragon's Lair was the hardest game I ever played (outside of perhaps Contra for Nintendo with only 3 lives and Defender, which I lasted 35 seconds on per quarter).

But games that come to mind from that era are the Michael Jackson MOONWALKER. That game seemed like you got your money's worth.
The other was the Simpsons arcade game, although I don't think that came out until 1991. That was another one that you got your money's worth.
As far as old school I go with Pac-Man.
I've been in and out of arcades my whole life and I thought Moonwalker was an awful overhyped game.

You weren't the only 'nerd' who kept stats in the blue marble notebooks!
I did this as well with Bases Loaded and Baseball Stars.
