My feelings on this Covers website and BetEd

My account was swept up also, but guys please get a grip.

If you are betting with a local or even a bigger fish and the net swoops in who the hell would you be going to to complain. If I recommended the guy in my cafe than should I be held accountable ?

My feeling is that Covers has no responsibility to me or any other member to get their money back.

Just my 2 cents here, but I would strongly advise against any charge backs attempts. It's just not the right thing to do.

This is not your fault and you shouldn't be held accountable.

Like I stated before. If I introduce you to my friend Tony, who takes action, and months later he gets busted. Am I now responsible to make sure you get paid ?

The answer is hell no as this would be between you and the man looking at serious jail time for bookmaking

Your point is WEAK. Even in your poor example, yes, a good friend would be more concerned about making sure his friend was made whole than collecting his own balance. Perhaps you have a dearth of quality friends.

But a more accurate example would be a situation where you were getting a kickback from Tony based on an ongoing and current relationship where you had a vested interest in my losing money to Tony, in which you should have known he was having problems that you failed to disclose due to your own self interest.

All the while acting as though you were some protector of my best interest.

Sounds just a bit more culpable, no??

 

 

To me the right example would go something like this:

A guy runs a book and he tells me, I'll give you a finders fee to get clients. I know the guy is well funded and pays. So I find some people and collect a fee.On Super Bowl Sunday, the cops raids the guys office and takes all his cash. Do you think I'm going to pay the friends I hooked up? I don't think so.

LOL no shit they don't have any responsibility of getting anybodies' money back; however it seems a little unethical to me to promote a site as the #1 reliable book for so long only to have this happen.

Obviously it wasn't the #1 book or this would've been avoided.  Tell me why 5dimes and thegreek are still going strong? Maybe they should've been at the top of the list.

That's what pisses me off.  And I don't even bet online.

the us gov thinks they are the worlds police. covers should be an advocate. even if you got ripped off by a fly by nigh website. they should at least look into it. Thats what they do. GAMBLING. Covers is acting admirably. give em a break. Covers doesnt have more authority than the shitty us gov.

I don't know why I would want to defend Covers. They deleted two of my posts here, making query about Bookmakers. I can't even remember much about them they were so mundane. But apparently they were too controversial for this forum....at this this particular point in time.

Covers is going to do their best to make whole those who lost money.

The fact that BetEd was Covers' #1 rated book is an absolute farce. It's laughable; a total joke, as are several of the other books listed in Covers' top 10. Anyone who knows anything about online sports betting knows that there are many books far more reputable than BetEd. And I see that BetUS has claimed the top spot in BetEd's absence. Sad.  Anyone who blindly deposits money into a subpar book based on Covers' recommendations should be embarrassed. There are plenty of unbiased, objective sources of information out there one can use to evaluate sportsbooks.

Here is how I accept this fate.  It's only money

Imagine the horror the people of the south and the midwest are dealing with. Houses destroyed, life savings gone in a flash and worse of all losing family members before you had a chance to say goodbye.

Count your blessings and hug your family.

Once again, it's only money and that can be replaced.

My main concern is if more books are going to do this. 

Elevated from weak to worthless and weak.

Of course, it's not life and death, unless you needed that money to eat. Or to pay for a surgery or to pay for your wedding BUT in that case why go to work? I mean all they are doing is paying you with money. I don't think Beted has the ability to give you cancer or sleep with your wife, so within the realm of what they could do, stealing our money is as bad as it gets.

But hey, you seem to thrive in the bent over and spread position.

The only thing you said that I agree with is that Tony's people wouldn't let you near their business. Who could blame them?

Maybe its only money to you, but there are people believe it or not who depend on it to pay expenses and get by to some degree. Ask some of the poker guys over at 2+2 who have been dealing with this shit from black friday for a bit now and see if you get a carefree response about it just being money LOL.
