Blackjack losses are killing me....need a way out of this.

Live blackjack, as opposed to internet Blackjack is not rigged.  It's just that the rules in live play are getting even worse for the player when dealers hit soft 17s.  The whole edge to the house comes from the player having to act first.  And once you bust, it doesn't matter if the dealer busts also.  That is where ties lose for the player, thus the huge 5-6% house edge.

Ok, guys.  I know it's my first post, so take it easy on me.  I don't doubt that the online casinos have the ability to fix games.  But blackjack is blackjack and the dealer has the very distinct advantage of not having to let the player(s) see his hole card.  The average blackjack player will beat himself a significant percentage of the time by playing against the phantom hole card, fearing it's fat number.  Also, blackjack is streaky.  This is consistent regardless of the venue...regardless of the number of decks...and regardless of the shuffle.  Removing the pushes from the equation, the house will win roughly 53% to 54% of the hands.  This doesn't sound that bad until you realize that if you play 1000 hands, the dealer is up by 60 to 80 hands.  If the house never put together more than 6 game win streak, the player could use a progressive technique and become a millionaire in short order.  However, I have seen the house string together a 13 game win streak, and that was for play-money.  This only happened one time and I have played thousands upon thousands of hands of blackjack, both real and simulated. Most players are most likely to run into an 8, maybe 9 game losing streak.  But that is more than enough to put a progressive player over the limit (and in the poorhouse if he keeps bumping against his highest progression, hoping that the worm will turn in his favor and he'll put together a 3 or 4 game streak himself to recoup).  As for the dealer seemingly always showing a face card...I, too, have noticed this.  But, it is consistent across all forms of blackjack.

Blackjack is definately not a game for someone who is prone to addiction.  It is VERY difficult to maintain your composure while losing at blackjack, and maintaining your composure is the best way to win at blackjack.

5 years ago I got sucked in the same way by playing the Casinos. If it was after a great day of picks on sports I would stay up all night playing until most of the time my + money went down. If I had a bad day I would chase at night on the tables.

I figured out the best and ONLY way for me is to use a book that doesn't have a casino. If you think about it, betting games for some is a rush and you get 2 to 4 hours out of it for a sporting event.....For those of us who do this for a living you learn that research gives YOU the edge and especially is College Sports.

STAY AWAY FROM CASINO games.........you have NO chance in winning consistantly.

I agree with most of what's been posted here... My best advice is just to stay away. Like anybody who has experience with online blackjack, we all know that "feeling" that lures us in. At the end of the day, none of these online books (that I deal with) post any sort of expectation in terms of their edge. I don't think it's regulated in terms of the payout they need to provide (based on game odds of standard, randomized blackjack). I'm not saying it's rigged, I'm just saying there's enough evidence to at least avoid it all together. Bottom line  - go to a real casino if you like to play blackjack. GL man I wish you the best.

Why even bother shuffling.  Just set the hand up.
