I had a very publicized battle with 5dimes in the past over the Wrestlemania issue. They tried fucking me out of $2500 when they clearly made an error, but they eventually paid. I still use them (well, not me, but many people I "know") for all boxing and MMA wagering. Other than Cris, they are absolutely the best for combat sports and payout reliability. 

I (and others I know) routinely cash 3k checks almost on a monthly basis. I've never ever had a problem cashing them the way I described above. Go to your local check cashing place, pay 2-3% and move on. 

Here is another tip for you guys... get to know a worker at some of these places that cash checks and send/receive Western Union and Moneygram. You get 3k? Throw her a $20. Hit on her. Do whatever. They aren't stupid. Hence why I can send/receive money in names other than my own if I choose to. 

Unfortunately, it's a dicey game for a moderate stakes American player. There are steps you can take to make it as easy as possible, as often as possible.

Appreciate all the advice I can get. Thank you for your input. But seeing as how everyone has an opinion on everything and many people say different things about the same subject, please don't take offense when I or others ask for additional opinions other than yours, not a critique on your credibility whatsoever. That being said I think this subject has been covered and I can proceed. Again thank you and other people for all your information.

What the hell is this talk about cashing checks. I've received at least 25 checks from five different books in the last 3 years and never had one bounce or was I questioned at the bank. Granted most of my check withdrawels were for $1200 or less so my banks never gave me a problem. Also, I don't ask for the cash I deposit the checks into my accounts and wait 4 days and then check my balance online or over the phone and if the depost cleared I'll withdraw the money I need. The trouble with most of the posters on this site is that need to have the cash right away. If you gamble and can't afford to wait a few days to get access to your money maybe you should not be gambling. My last advice which I've stated in other posts before is to join a Credit Union for your gambling transactions. Most credit unions are small and if you qualify to join one they are happy to take you money for deposit.

I don't know what books you deal with but over the past 24 months but primarily over a year ago I had 6, count them, 6 checks bounce from 5dimes alone. They were all for $3000. 

Also, to the guys that go t a check cashing place to avoid the paper trail. I believe what you are telling us, but in my area I have tried over a dozen places and they won't do it after trying  to verify the account and funds.

I had a 5dimes check last year for $855 and deposited it in my Credit Union without a problem. Maybe you should request checks for less than $1000 and see how that goes. Never use a check cashing place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Noob question but, i want to start with 5dimes but for withdrawals, if i do visa, is there any way around giving them photo copy of my driver license? i dont want some company to have all that information

You pay a fee for the check from the book then you pay a fee to the check cashing place. Eats into your profits. Take my advice and join a credit union.

They have always been sticklers about this.  WAY too many people initiate chagebacks. 

My advice, go ahead and give them the DL copy but use only one cc with them (and NOT your primary checkcard). A prepaid bank card is even better. 

It was a couple of years ago but I had some fishy transactions show up on two of my cards that I had used with them.  Ended up having to cancel all my cards. Stick to one where it's easy to monitor.

I have received checks from 5 dimes last year and my bank wouldnt take them....I knew they were good but the bank said they were very suspicious and wouldnt take them....

So lets talk facts, OK?  Not my friend this and my friend that.  I checked, and 5dimes doesnt do "10K variety checks".  They limit them to 3k.  Fact 1.

The checks are from processors.  I have friends too, and my friends get checks from 5dimes.  These checks are from companies that your bank would have no idea are for gambling BECAUSE THESE PROCESSORS ARE LEGITIMATE PROCESSORS.  If your bank refused your check from this processor, they would also refuse all of the other checks that go to lawyers, doctors, lawn maintenance companies etc.  Maybe your friends are getting checks from books that dont use processors - I dont know - or maybe you dont have any fucking friends because you are a moron.  Fact 2.

These checks are from US BANKS almost all the time.  That means, that you can go to one of these major US BANKS in your town and cash this check for cash right in front of their fucking faces!!  You should see the tellers face when you walk up with a 3k check from a legitmate US based payment processor!!!  It looks like someone who has taken their 100th transaction of the day, and is thinking about their next coffee break and when they can take their next dump.  "Here is your cash sir" - they will even say thank you most of the time!!  Fact 3.

Some checks bounce.  These often come from payment processors who find out there is gambling businesses using them, or payment processors who are unscrupulous - or payment processors who just fuck up.  This is rare, but it does happen.  Fact 4.

Now, take my advice and try to think of something brilliant to post, so I can compliment you.  Because right now, you are stuck in morontown, population you.

Got my $2600 check today, this check came faster than the last one. Walked into Wells Fargo and went right up to the teller at the window. No questions were asked and in about 5 minutes I was out the door with cash in hand. So in 2 weeks and with 2 checks for about 4k I have had no problems with 5dimes or my bank. GL to the rest of you.

I haven't received a check from 5 dimes in about 12 months, been doing mainly western union, but alot of talk about blacklists I decided to go with a check this time to switch it up. Only took 2 days to get here, same as before. Fortunately my sister works at my bank, so i just give it to her to deposit it into my account and wait a few days to make sure it doesn't bounce. Before she worked there another bank i had put a 30 day hold on the first check I ever got. then it went to 7-10 day hold. This check came all the way from the bank of nova scotia. Are most of you guys check from the us or canada?
