Woke up a couple months ago wanting a BLT sandwich......... went to Kroger, the tomatoes were shitty so went to Whole Foods. They were $5.99 a pound and still kinda shitty
I buy 2 tomatoes for like ten bucks.
Some woman in the checkout line has a bag full of tomatoes ..... That has got to be $75 bucks worth of tomatoes in that bag.

i don't know but after the run up in tomato prices this winter, me and my neighbor are looking into splitting a temp controlled greenhouse for when tom's are out of season, so long as the
township will let me erect it at the back of the property, figure it would pay for itself in the first year,,,,,,,,

There has got to be a reason Tomatoes only come around in the Summer tho. Might have nothing to do with temperature and more to do with the length of sunlight, no clue but give it a whirl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm sure there's been some nice advancements over the decade, and 9 years ago when i was taking hort classes you could really maximize your space in a hydroponic greenhouse. figure they'd fit my niche too, local grown, organic, hydroponic tomatoes
50-60+$ per case in the winter
