So today's travels bring me to King of Prussia, PA to visit my brother and his kids.  Circumstances dictated that I was to take my 7 year old nephew out to dinner.  Cool!  The convo went something like this:

Me:  Where do you want to go?
    Him:  KFC!  Im hungry.
Me:  Are you sure KFC has the right nutritional balance for a 7 year old?
    Him:  FU Vanzack!

So we went to KFC.  As I have explained here before - I am a vegetarian.  I made this decision about 10 years ago (and detailed it here) and I attribute it to saving my life and keeping me around longer than whatever my original scheduled departure date was.  But I was genuinely curious what was going on at KFC, and my nephew seemed to think it was the best thing on earth - so we were on our way.

Turns out this is a KFC / Taco Bell combo joint.  Really?  Who came up with this - Lucifer himself?  I started to develop a story for Child Protective Services so that they don't take him out of my custody.

I ask my nephew what he wants - and the answer was faster than a covers poster giving his lock of the day - "A five dollar fill up!".  I read the menu - this is 2 pieces of fried chicken, fries, a biscuit, a cookie, and a drink.  For five bucks.

The guy in front of me is wearing a Nickelback concert shirt, and orders 3 burritos (that only cost 1 dollar each) and a five dollar fill up.  Are the burritos dessert?  Can any human eat this and survive?

I get up to the front of the line and order the five dollar fill up and a bean burrito for me (also a dollar).  Quanisha at the register told me the beans are vegetarian - and please dont tell me they arent - it is something I never want to know.  Our food comes out fast and hot - and it weighs about 3 pounds.

I survey the restaurant.  Are these the Trump voters I always hear about but never meet?  I used to be a fat guy.  I realize that saying that makes me sound like a white guy who makes racist jokes because he "has black friends", but there were a lot of fat people eating there.  19 people total in the restaurant - and every one of them fat - every single one.  Unscientific?  Yes.  Correlation without causation?  I would say no.

My nephew tears in to his food.  I start to ponder.  How is this possible?  How is the food and overhead costs not more than 5 bucks for this?  Is it OK that we are feeding our kids this shi*?  Is this the crack of the obese?  Eh...  For now - my nephew needs to answer some question - and here are his responses:

Chicken:  "Delicious and yummy.  Salty and hot.  It is sometimes wet inside but not today."  (sounds pornographic)

Potato Wedges:  "OW!  Burns my mouth.  But worth it."

Biscuit:  "Makes me want to drink but so good"

    Cookie:  "Awesome"

    Drink:  "Not good"

He ate it all.  Overall he gave it a 9 out of 10 because the drink wasnt so good otherwise it would have been a 10.

I checked in on my Nickelback friend - and he was polishing off his third and final burrito and his fill up was destroyed.  Is he a happy person?  Does he go home and regret his choices?  Should KFC be held responsible for this?  He certainly is going to need medication to live past 40.

So overall - the KFC 5 dollar fill up in King of Prussia KFC gets a 9 out of 10.  The overall moral implications of allowing a 7 year old to enter this cycle of eating are yet to be determined, but my conscience is telling me I am going directly to hell.

    KFC / Taco Bell?

    Was this a Truck Stop?

Plan on spending time tonight on the toilet seat.

There is one of these combo 'restaurants' near me.....   inside of it are the dregs of humanity.   It's sticky, it's stinky, it's slow.  I haven't been there for years.... not since the whole Taco Bell 'is it meat' issue.   Saw 2 fights between employees and customers over a few years.  And it's not in a bad neighborhood.... it just attracts white trash like insects to a bug zapper.

Now, full disclosure I was craving fried chicken a few weeks ago and went to a stand-alone KFC out in the country....  it was very good.  2 large breasts... mashed w/gravy... biscuits all good.   The only downfall was not staring at the ghoul that took my order...  6'2+, 250lbs+, red hair in a bun.  Male.  Forehead tattoo.  Painted fingernails.  Voice higher than Bernadette from Big Bang Theory.  I'm usually not dumbfounded, but at that moment when he spoke, I was truly in awe trying to figure out what exactly what was in front of me.

    Was this a Truck Stop?

Plan on spending time tonight on the toilet seat.

A majority of KFC's are Taco Bells and vice-a-versa.  Both owned by YUM brands.  Great stock/investment but personally I wouldn't eat that shiit unless its 3am and I'm piss drunk.

Don't hate on the 11 herbs and spices!  Colonel's goodness is banging, but I'd rather make my own fried chicken.

I only eat it a couple of times a year but I tear in to when I do.

My best in one sitting:  2.75 IBS (9 drumsticks)

Pretty good for someone who is 5'11, 170 IBS.

All you out-of-shape and obese phucks probably got it over me but I think that's pretty good!

If it had no health consequences, I'd eat fried chicken everyday!

This was near a place called "collegeville", north of where you are describing.  There was a Kohls and a Marshalls in the same plaza.

You used to be able to rely on "fast food" as "good food quickly", it was real but at a reasonable price. Hey, my first job was at McDonalds, for $3.35/hour, while I was in high school. I realized what the job was, what it entailed, why I was only making this much, and I quickly moved on to improve myself....

But not anymore, since the "Fight For $15" crusade, people expecting to make this sh!t job a "career" and then live on it is part of what's wrong with this country.

So, guess what America, we've now got leftover by-product "food grade" soy meal, some spent tire tread, and an old car wash sponge soaked in spices and passed off as "taco meat" for your Taco Bell burrito. The savings is passed on to you, the consumer - as is your explosive diarrhea and closing arteries. The Golden Goose "corporate fukks" are going to make that bottom line, regardless of what the minimum wage is......

Just asking, does anyone remember the Mc D.L.T.? How great it was? "Keep the hot side hot, and the cool side cool"? Just a distant faded memory............

My suggestion, go local, go non-chain, pay a little bit more, and be magically surprised at how great "fast-food" can be.....

The best is when Stan's mom buys the kids the Colonel's goodness but she makes the kids take in the groceries before they can start eating it.

Cartman stays behind and eats the skin off all of the pieces.

When they get back and find out, Kenny starts crying, hahahahaha

This meal reads like a nutritional nightmare.  Lots of white flour and sugar - junk carbs that pack on the pounds while providing virtually no nutrients.  Fried foods are loaded with triglycerides that are dangerous to your health.

Vanzack, congratulations on adhering to your vegetarian diet for a full ten years.  I love meat and wheat and corn bother me, so I would never become a vegetarian unless the doctor mandated it.

They are featuring a good combo, in honor of the upcoming election. You should've tried it, Van. It's called the Hillary Special:

    2 fat thighs

    1 small breast

    1 left wing

Sounds great. All you need to do is figure out what you want to wash it down with.

More like Colonel's 13 secret genetic modifications to the chicken genome.

Seriously, what's wrong with the Colonel? It's fortified with a nutrient called Murica.
