Im going to have to disagree and say the hemp protien is terrible stuff. It doesn't break down well so you get the shits real bad, tastes like soil and doesn't have any added bonus in my opinion.
Source: Trained at national cycling centre, which had an unlimted supply of it.
Flavour wise, you cant beat brands like muscle milk and syntha 6.
Performance wise, I'd suggest trying to get some australlian brands of protien as they don't have secret "proprietary blends" in their ingredients, and must say exactly whats inside. For the amount of creatine on a mass gainer in USA/Can it says *mg... In Aus it says the actual number.

Just FYI taking those protein shakes everyday is not good for your heart. Try to eat a high protein diet if you are doing it for bodybuilding purposes.

I am sure you have zero medical training or background, but whey protein shakes increase blood pressure. Those who have shakes daily and even multiple times a day tend to have high blood pressure (there are obviously exceptions to this rule) A lot of body builders wind up having heart attacks in their 40's 50's due to high blood pressure... there is PLENTY of scientific FACTS to back this up. Do some reading and research before you go calling bs

i have done research as well as discussed protein sources many times with my girlfriends father who IS a doctor. and every protein has different nutritional values and ingredients some loaded with cholesterol. Yeah if you drink them every meal like some do for weight reducing purpose yeah theyre bad for you. thats not how theyre intended to be used. if you eat red meat or any protein source and nothing else its going to do the same thing. thats why any protein diet is risky. if you use whey and soy protein as directed theyre not going to hurt anyone. so you check with your doctor and you research. i already have and in moderation as directed theyre not going to hurt anyone

I respect that. My dad is a doctor to for what it's worth (an Oncologist so this is far from his area of expertise) and I am in pharmacy school (So this is not really my area of expertise either)
It's funny, before I got a job and went to graduate school I used to go to the gym 5 times a week and take protein shakes everyday. I went for my yearly checkup and the doctor told me my BP was slightly high. He immediately asked me... do you take protein shakes everyday. He followed that up with do you lift heavy weights or moderate weights (When I was bulking up I used to constantly be maxing out and lifting heavy) and the combination of the two he said could easily raise someone's BP.
I stopped the protein shakes almost all together. There are so many good diet plans that are high in protein online.
Good luck with it all.

if you look at protein i mentioned in #11 Optimum oats and whey has no artificial sweetener or additives. Just read label for ingredients and nutritional info. i think there are only 2 other that are all natural and you know how many hundreds of brands are out there. and i agree some are full of alot of shit and while i agree syntha6 is maybe best taste out there i think nutritionwise yeah id advise doctor to check that label. and really thats prolly smart thing to do with any is let your doc look at label. i can tell you i have taken 1 and only 1 a day for over 2 years and my BP is 105/65

I
must admit in my practice I never came across an association between
protein and BP. All I can think of is renal ffailure secondary to renal
vascular disease would be hypertensive and one would need to keep
protein intake down in renal failure.
cheers
