Anybody have any thoughts on a Dark Horse in the WC this summer.
My two thoughts are Belgium and Columbia (really hoping Falcao gets back fit)
Anyone else taking any fliers on some not names Brazil, Spain, Italy or Germany??

I would have thought Belgium a year ago but the loss of Benetke and the fact they have played horrible in their past 3 friendlies keeps me away from them. I like Chile as a dark horse

As a Belgian, I will be cheering for them every game for 90 minutes long. But I can't see them surviving the second round, where they probably will be facing either Germany or Portugal.
I can see Chile going through to the round of 16 at the cost of Holland, but they will probably face Brasil and we all know that'll be a tough nut to crack.
Oh how I'm looking forward to the World Cup!

Uruguay
Suarez probably best striker in the world right now.
Cavani and lavezzi will score too.
Solid back line.
Like: South American team to win it at +money

Lavezzi is from Argentina
Muslera is not a solid keeper and this could hurt Uruguay.

Theres a couple I like. To win it all not from the top 3 I like France, Netherlands, and Ivory Coast. Maybe France as the best shot to win there. They really have some talent all across he pitch and some top class players in Benzema and Ribery.

Sorry, disagree with that 100%. Mexico and US struggled at times in the weak CONCACAF qualifying. I think they are both in trouble.
Just to add to the conversation. No European side has ever won a WC hosted in North or South America. Small sample size, and hasn't been one hosted here since 1994, but still a fact.
Uruguay has to be in the mix for longer shots that might have a legit shot. Portugal and Netherlands both have some longer odds too.
I'll throw Italy out there too. Haven't heard much talk about them of late either.

do dogs ever actually WIN the world cup? this isn't march madness. they may get to last 8 even last 4 but actually winning is another story
last time a hardcore dog winning was probably uruguay over brazil in 1950 lol
(italy in 06 MAYBE but even then they were a 4 time champion)
hard to see past anyone but brazil imo

Futures(bets) are made to be hedged at a later date. They are the only wager(s) that should be hedged.

It'd be more telling if European teams didn't advance far in NA or SA world cups. But winning is just a matter of luck. In USA 94, Brazil beat Italy on penalty kicks. At Mexico 86, Germany went to the finals before losing to Argentina. I think the other WCs just go too far back.

Uruguay for sure.
1.. They got the experience. ( they are born to play ) only 3 million of Uruguayans.
2.. They only have 2 old players ( Forlan and Lugano )
3.. They have a solid back line ( Godin and Caceres from Juventus )
4.. Uruguay is going to practically play with 7 defenders and 3 fowards.
5.. The Fowards are Suarez, Forlan and Cavani. ( any national team would like to have them )
Look at last world cup.
They now have a more mature team and with Suarez and Cavanni in better form.
Just my opinion
