Would love to see it. Off rip I have USA and the Draw play isolating Ghana. That's a must Win or get something out of the team and they really have a shot at a victory. Lets see if they can redeem selves from last time in WC vs Ghana.

Ghana match will be interesting. Wild situational spot. Revenge angle, while US needs a win against the least dangerous group threat (who is still a formidable foe; obviously as Ghana owns the US team).Total has been set at 2 with both AHs set at a PK near even juice. Line screams draw, but the US really needs to push to grab a win in this match.

Early games tend to scream under. I feel square with with the over 2; still like it. US will need to press and an early US or Ghanan goal could sail the total.

Why do we have the least imaginative, most pugnacious chant?  We sound like a bunch of Neanderthals trying to compensate for our sub par team.  Good luck repeating "USA" thousands of times...

What a sub-par performance from the U.S. today in their "send-off" game with Turkey.   If this is the sign of things to come in the WC, U.S. fans gonna be really disappointed.   A porous defense will be severely exploited by the likes of Germany, Portugal, potentially Ghana.   Turkey should scored more... and teams in WC will not miss those opportunities.

Up front, the team seemed to lack flow, particularly when given opportunities to score.  This team will miss Donovan  IMHO. 

What he may have lacked in speed in his later years, is more than replaced with good decision-making and ability.    I think JK will regret the move.

 

I sure hope team USA plays better in Brazil or we will not go far in the tourney. Of course this was a friendly so I would not put too much into it. I do think we are solid in the net and the back end will perform better. They did look to be quick to the ball in a lot of situations.

Landon Donovan we will miss you.

Playing in the world cup is a total different thing, specially the first game. 

What is soccer, our 7th most popular sport? fade USA fade USA. Against the big boys in Europe and South America anyway.

OK.. I gotta hand it to Vancack,  who makes a very compelling point on why Donovan was left off the squad in the Soccer Forum.   

In the end, the absence of Donovan leaves JK tinkering with the squad to get it right by 2018.   Too bad for this WC.

But seriously USA is in the group of death. They have a very respectable #13th world ranking but what is that going to get them when thay are in the same groups as #2 Spain and #4 Portugal. Even Ghana ranked #37 isn't a pushover, they made it to the world cup quarterfinals in 2010.

I think that had something to do with it, too, but to sacrifice this WC for laying the groundwork 4 years from now just doesn't sit right.  Put your best players on the field .  Plain and simple.

 

 

Better game by the U.S.  today, wining by the same 2-1 score as earlier in the week.  And again conceding the goal on PK.

Nigeria seems a more undisciplined side compared to the Turks from last week.  Not sure U.S. get the same opportunities against Ghana, but overall, much better game today by U.S.

Altidore gets on the scoreboard for first time since forever, and Bradley is an under the radar solid passer.

Next up is Ghana in the WC...
