i have a couple of guys for my rookie contract.

I think Mike Trout is going to be the real deal so ive been holding it for him since I drafted him

Maybe down the road is Trout gets hurt or something ill work it in.

But what you can do, PSM, is you can give a guy your prospect contract THIS YEAR, give your franchise tag to Trout to have him for next year, THEN give him your prospect contract next season. Like I'm doing with Hosmer and Harper.

i have rooks on my roster also Sparky.. im using my Prospect Contract and Franchise Tag (<-- if i have a player worth taggin' drafted in the final 9 Rds or a free agent)

ManRam: the thing with Hanley is this... do i keep him and "hope" he returns to the way we all know he can play or trade him then im out an elite SS for the next 3 years and stuck trying to fill a position thats hard to get quality stats from unless u own players like Andrus, Tulo, Reyes.. he's not gonna struggle all year and if he does then i highly doubt he has a bad 2012 season.. kids got so much talent but i think he's a bit lazy and doesnt do the lil' things that take players from "star" to "Great".. holliday + what lands me Bautista ?

Bautista moving back to 3rd btw.

Jeter is available if you trade Hanley. If you're interested of course. He's more quality than whatever is on the market.

My plan was to auction off my rookies at the end of the season. But then I remembered that there was a trade deadline, my wheels kept turning. So I'll either keep them for the rest of the season, or trade them to whoever wants them come the deadline (or now, but it'll cost more now because they're actually helping my team).

ill be interested towards the deadline depending on what happens with certain players.

Also I'd have to use my prospect on trout because Ian Kennedy will be my franchise tag if he keeps this up

You'd have to use your prospect tag on Trout regardless because he wasn't drafted in the final 10 rounds. So that's a wash altogether.

Shortly after exiting Thursday's game early with lower back tightness, Roy Oswalt acknowledged that the chronic ailment could end his career at some point.
Oswalt said he has continued pitching despite the discomfort because "I don’t want to be labeled a quitter." Additionally, he realized during Thursday's game that he "was not helping the team. I'm kind of a liability more than anything." The veteran starter isn't sure whether another cortisone injection will help, but also suggested that he would get fixed whatever needs fixing. With an MRI coming Monday, Oswalt will have time to consider his options before learning the results. Until then, it sounds like every conceivable scenario is on the table.
