Baseball League Pre-Season

Is baseball here yet?

sparky:  u think Soriano will get many SV opps with Rivera still around?  and who's Tampa's SV guy?? jake McGee or Hellickson.

im thinking Cargo as my #1 or Hanley..   votto and longoria are thoughts but 1st base is deep with veteran talent and i think the hardest positions to fill in the draft are SS/2B/3B. i know Cargo is an OF but he's a 5 Catagory Guy with speed and power and i think that should be your building block.. i think im content with now with #1, i like getting 2 picks B2B at 24-25 then 48-49 then 72-73,  sometimes u get to your draft position and your so undecided on a guy u drive yourself crazy so this is kinda like letting you guys take who u want then it makes my decision that much easier in a weird way ya know...  

 

Only if Mo gets hurt. Mo will NOT appreciate getting rest during save situations. At the end of the season he may get more...but I say the over/under is about 5 for the amount of saves he gets. I say he gets more wins than saves to be honest.

As for Hellickson...he's a starter. Howell may be the closer but I think they still have ST to figure that out.

Hanley is probably the #1 pick simply because, if you look at the top fantasy shortstops, it's Hanley, Tulo and then who? Jeter? Alexei Ramirez?

I was actually thinking about trading draft picks. How does that work? You can trade the #1 for #8 by switching the orders before draft time, but wouldn't that make me the #1 guy for the entire draft? I'd be getting the 24th and 25th picks as well and so on and so forth. If you tade draft positions, you have to trade all of them.

Lets not forget that I'm slow...so it may be very easy to explain but I'm just lost.

I'd love CarGo...but he does scare me. He had that breakout season...but it was just 1 and he showed that he was one of the best players in baseball at home while being above average on the road but not near the player. I'd still take him though but he won't fall to me so it doesn't matter. I'm thinking every day about how I'm going to approach this draft.

How many times was HanRam mocked last season? He had an amazing season but, if I never looked at the stats, I could have sworn he had a shitty season. I just remember so much heat on him and a serious rough patch...but he finished with those numbers.

That's who I would take if I had the first pick.

Nevermind...I figured it out.

If I were to have traded my 1st round and 9th round to philly for his 1st and last...we'd just tell each other who to pick when that round comes and trade afterwards.

I'm a genius...I know.

sparky: if we trade draft picks it has to be done BEFORE the draft and ManRam edits the slots and you would be at #1 and i would have 8th and whatever else we traded but then you would go 17th and i would go 24th n 25th and so on..   we'r not trading every draft spot, what would be the benefit of me moving to #8 then and giving up my #1. 

just say the draft had 11 rounds (thats all i wrote downon a Mock sheet so far # wise.)  your picks come at Spots 8, 17, 32, 41, 56, 65, 80, 89, 104, 113 and 128.  

Mine would be: 1, 24, 25, 48, 49, 72, 73, 96, 97, 120, 121

so if we traded i would give say #1 overall (round 1) and #96 (round 8) and i would get your #8 (round 1) and #56 (round 5),

thats saying i get a 1st round and two 5th rounds and you get #1 and two 8th round picks (u lose 5th round, i lose 8th round) but thats cause u moved up to #1 and i gained an extra pick in Rd 5 for giving up that slot to you

i think thats right... 

i'll probably just keep my picks cause im confusing myself and trades really need to be thought out cause this is a Keeper League.

sidenote: My number 1 pick in this league would be the best hitter in the game, Joey Votto. #2 Carlos Gonzalez.

I told you if you trade picks i go in an edit those rounds to draft accordingly as if thats how it was supposed to be all along. If there is a trade you just have to make sure to let me know.

Oh...so it's that easy? Cool. But unless philly is willing to give up his pick...I'm probably staying put anyway.

Same here, not playing Fantasy Baseball but definitely waiting for next year Fantasy Football!

I remember last year, it was pretty intense, in the baseball threads hehe. Wish I knew how to play fantasy football but seems too overwhelming to catch up and too many veterans I guess

Yea...I heard about it last week. Sadly...it made it less enjoyable. Especially since nobody got any mic time.

The storyline will be Triple H challenging Taker to avenge HBK from last year.

The Rock was much more of a show though...simply because he went all out and it brought me back.
