    Miami vs. Wisconsin...

    Some stats...

    • Miami is 5-3 against bowl teams. Wisconsin is 4-3.
    • The opponents record of the teams Miami have beat is 51-45 (not including Florida A&M). Record of opponents Wisconsin have beaten is 47-50.

    Miami Offensive Breakdown:

    Points Scored: 27
    Total Yards: 36
    Pass Yards: 27
    Rush Yards: 62

    Wisconsin Defensive Breakdown

    Points Allowed: 42
    Total yards allowed:18
    Pass Yards Allowed: 66
    Rush Yards Allowed: 8

Analysis: Wisconsin defense is underrated in my mind. They have 33 sacks this year and Miami has allowed 30. They also have forced 15 interceptions. If Wisconsin can get some pressure and force the young Harris to get rid of the ball a little earlier then he wants to good things can happen for Wisconsin. If Harris makes mistakes early and try to run, I don't expect them to have sucess against this run d.

    Wisconsin Offensive Breakdown:

    Points Scored: 21
    Total Yards: 34
    Pass Yards: 71
    Rush Yards: 14

    Miami Defensive Breakdown

    Points Allowed: 40
    Total yards allowed:25
    Pass Yards Allowed: 38
    Rush Yards Allowed: 28

Analysis: Wisconsin's offense is better then some think it is i think. They can keep up in a high scoring affair. Clay is an absolute beast and Tolzien is efficent. This should be a prety good matchup between these two units.

    Other:

    Net Punt Avg:
    Miami: 35.1
    Wisconsin: 35.5

    Penalties / yards per game:
    Miami: 7.5 / 56.9

    Wisconsin: 48%

    3rd Down conversions (defensive):
    Miami: 36%
    Wisconsin: 36%

    Wisconsin: 77%

    Red Zone Touchdowns (defensive):
    Miami: 34%
    Wisconsin: 56%

    1st half scoring:
    Miami: 165 to 134
    Wisconsin: 223 to 125

    Turnover Breakdown: (offensive)
Miami: Has thrown 17 INT and lost 3 fumbles (12 fumbles total)
Wisconsin: Has thrown 11 INT and 10 fumbles (18 fumles)

    Turnover Breakdown (defensive):
Miami: Have forced 8 INT and 10 fumbles
Wisconsin: Have forced 15 INT and 11 fumbles

    Turnover margin:
    Miami: -2
    Wisconsin: +5

Analysis: Miami has thrown a lot of interceptions. Wisconsin has forced a lot of interceptions. See where I'm getting at? Expect Harris to throw some INT and the Wisco line to get a lot of pressure. Also, when Wisconsin gets in the red zone, they get points, and more often then not touchdowns. Those are very impressive Red Zone numbers

    Wisconsin: 34
    Miami: 30

    1st half scoring:
    Miami: 165 to 134
    Wisconsin: 223 to 125

    Turnover Breakdown: (offensive)
Miami: Has thrown 17 INT and lost 3 fumbles (12 fumbles total)
Wisconsin: Has thrown 11 INT and 10 fumbles (18 fumles)

    Turnover Breakdown (defensive):
Miami: Have forced 8 INT and 10 fumbles
Wisconsin: Have forced 15 INT and 11 fumbles

    Turnover margin:
    Miami: -2
    Wisconsin: +5

Analysis: Miami has thrown a lot of interceptions. Wisconsin has forced a lot of interceptions. See where I'm getting at? Expect Harris to throw some INT and the Wisco line to get a lot of pressure. Also, when Wisconsin gets in the red zone, they get points, and more often then not touchdowns. Those are very impressive Red Zone numbers

    Wisconsin: 34
    Miami: 30

    just a point to consider...

    Wis secondary is bad....very bad

have watched them all year get burned big time

don't know the Miami passing attack, but if you can

throw you can score on Wis

I think Miami can will this game in the air.  Wisconsin will pound at them, but Miami shut down the run game of GT this year.......if they are prepared and I think Mr. Shannon will have them ready, they should cover the 3.......but not by much and it will make you sweat!!!

Miami should put this game away for an nice cap to a great season. Too much speed on offense and defense for this sluggish Wisconsin team to handle.  Miami -3

    Miami - 29                                   Wisconsin - 24

    Hurricanes -3                     under 58

Miami beat the like of Georgia Tech, Florida St, Oklahoma and South Florida....all teams I rate higher that Wisconsin. If the Canes play to their capabilities they should exit Disney World with a win and a cover.

Miami -3.5. Look for miami to dominate wisc with over powering speed. Harris will have a field day airing the ball out. Also, the U should feel very comfortable playing just a few hours away from home.

    Took MIAMI -3.5 under 57

On paper wisc has a decided edge, but their schedule is somewhat weak.

Will see if Miami can exibit some of the fire power & speed that made their hoodlams of the 80's so dominate.

Wisconsin wins this game outright....take the point to the bank.  Harris wont be able to throw an accurate ball being pressured all game, nor will he be able to run anywhere.....while J Clay has improve drastically as this year progressed....Harris mistakes will cost the canes....Strong run game by Wisco will dehumanize the canes D and keep Harris off the field....

Taking the Canes here. They have the ability to throw against the Wisky defense in what is practically a home game. Going to be a fairly large play. GLTA

I like Wisky in this matchup but so far have yet to lay a dime on it.   Curious about the injury list and some players who will miss the game.  Can anyone shed some light on these players who will be out?

Wisky has 3 OL out -- Oglesby, Nagy and Konz.  How many are starters?

MIami has a longer list but not all are out.  QB Harris has a bad thumb.  DL Moncur and T Fox are ?'s.  DL Ojomo is out.  Are they starters?

I think we have another close matchup here and I like the points, especially the way the line is moving.

I am noticing a heavy consensus(covers site) on the badgers but a somewhat heavy public pick on Miami. I have watched Wisconsin play - they are hard hitting, slow, a grinding out on the ground team with an off/ on mediocre QB. I am going with a incentive based miami squad ( hard up for their 10th victory) and the home crowd to push them to a 9 pt. victory.     30 - 21    canes even though i can't stand Miami !  "Show me the   "

Both teams have very good D's when they bring their best efforts.  Both teams can perform on offense in their own ways when they are cranked up.  Who has the better QB?  Who has far more speed?  Who has played a tougher schedule(as both teams are 9-3)?  Who has a better secondary?  Who has about 2 dozen NFL stars that have made calls all week to key players about resurrecting the dormant giant and putting the responsibility on these young and upcoming kids to start it tonight?!?!?!?

What conference has the worst record over the last three years running in BCS games?  Who lost to N'western??  Who got manhandled by the two best teams they played on their schedule???  What team is playing in a state that historically, when in a bowl game in their home state, they just stomp on people????

If you answer these questions......honestly.....it makes you feel very confident on who to pick tonight.  I like them in a romp!!  And it will be my largest bet of the night.
