This one is so easy it's almost scary! Tennessee returns all 5 starting O-Line that only allowed 4 sacks last year. They have a 1,000 yard rusher returning and a 1,000 yard receiver...and he's not their best receiver. The defense is much improved in the front seven, although depth is an issue there. The secondary is absolutely loaded. I've been in touch with a few UCLA fans that attend some of the practices and they said Craft has not looked well at all. At one practice, he threw 3 straight INT's. They have 4 new starting O-Linemen and the only one with experience broke his hand in practice and may be limited. They have not been able to run the ball well at all in practice. And finally, they have a starting safety suspended for this game. All signs point to Tennessee and -7.

Tuff game for the Vols 2000 miles and UCLA I have no faith in Fulmer he is the worst coach in the SEC. Would be a big win for the SEC with Gators beating Hawaii and a VOLS win.
..worst coach in the SEC?? Ignorant.

Fellows if you bet anything but Vols, you are not all there.Ucla 's got new coach, new system, not many return players in particularly on offense. There defense is also ????.And as for Tenn traveling, its the first game of the year.....it don't mean shit in this situation.Tennessee will have all they're fans there + what they already have in Los Angeles.Did i mention Ucla QB SITUATION IS SHIT!!! LAY SMALL 7 PTS ON A GAME THAT WILL NOT BE CLOSE!!

Agree that Rick and Norm are very talented coaches, but the problem is they are not getting the talented players as UCLA did in yesteryears. Running Back U (aka Tenn.) will control the ball, and make for a very long day on a young defense. UCLA will have to put more in box to stop the run, and should allow young Tenn QB and easier time throwing the ball. Tenn will cover easily.

I just don't know what to expect from the O this year. They are saying in Knoxville its kind of a "west coast" offense where we will use short passes and draws and screens to open up for a few shots down field later. How much later is the question?? I look for this to be a real snooze fest early, maybe 10-3 halftime. Maybe the Vols will open it up late and I'm positive Crompton will play better with a lead.
The Vols secondary is going to be GREAT this year, which is good news after how bad we looked at times last year. I don't see UCLA being able to throw anything deep against us, and I'm almost positive they won't even try too often. Who would put in a 3rd string QB against a good DB field and say "let it fly!" ? So hopefully we'll have 7 in the box and slow the run down enough to force lots and lots of punts, and turn some good field position into Points while we learn this new O.
I like the Vols, and like the first half under (don't have yet, as long as its under 21)
TENNESSEE 27
UCLA 10
What's up ditty? Good to see you back my friend.

Definitely on UCLA -- both teams breaking in new offenses, gotta look to the coaches. Neuheisel, Chow, and Walker has to be one of the best coaching staffs in the country. Plus fading the public on this one.

I know it looks like too easy of a call but i got to go with my vols.. Latest news here from K-town is that our O is looking more and more comfortable.. Compton is looking very confident and the vols will rely on him to control the game.. not alot of deep passes but enough keep the D honest.. look for Foster to pound the ball all game long to control that clock.. Here is two names to look for during this game.. Montario Hardesty and Gerald Jones... Hardesty is suppose to be the change of back for the vols but he has the potental to be that home run hitter in the running game as well is the return game.. the same can be said of Jones in the passing game.. The coaches are raving about his speed...
On the defensive side, rico mcCoy lead a very fast group of LB this year.. The Dline is where i have alittle consider since we really don't have sa stand out line.. but the depth of this group should really help keep our DL fresh.. Eric berry and Demetrius morley lead a very talented group in out scondary.... I just don't see how UCLA will have much success thrown the ball with a 3rd string QB.. that means UCLA will try to control the clock with the run games.. Looking for the vols to stack the line and challenge the bruins to beat them with the passing game.. I just don't see it happening...
As I said.. it looks too easy of a pick but sometime.. the easy way is the right way... Hopefully this is one of them...

Tennessee vs. UCLA +7.5 (2 units) - be careful here folks, if it seems too good to be true then it probably is. The line opened last week at 7 or 7.5 depending on where you look and it hasn't budged despite UCLA announcing their 3rd string QB is starting. Both teams have inexperienced QBs learning a new offense, but Tenneessee has the whole OL returning from last season and a 1,000 yard RB in Arian Foster. UCLA is returning 5 guys on the defense so they should be pretty solid at stopping the run, although their secondary is young and weak. Expect a lot of turnovers and a very ugly game which could also mean a low scoring game. I could potentially see the Vols controlling the 2nd half with the run and forcing the community college transfer (QB Kevin Kraft) to beat them in the air. The public has been all over the Vols... on Wagerline they are 60%, SportsInsights at 76%, and VegasInsider at 90%. That is my main cause for concern, and the lack of line movement makes me want to take the home dog on national tv.
