Hey if your going to post games in general go to that forum.Tihs thread is about SNU and Tulane.
And who you touting here: What the price
I consier the public $$ amongst other things when betting and use this site as an added tool to get info about injuries and to see what people think that have good info on specific teams the know a lot about that i don't. someone said it right when they said that sportsbook, wagerline, etc. use subjective public #'s, which is probably true. A good site that doesn't is www.smartcapper.com, it is a lot more objective and it is a combination of sites or casinos and averages them and shows open and current #'s. I don't live and die by public #'s but they don't lie when it comes to taking a game that "looks too easy" because it probably is. I have done well doing this in NCAA football this year. Another great tool is vegasexperts.com.

hokie69 - Lost $1800 that weekend, didn't know what was going on, couldn't adjust wagers, could hedge bets... that's what happens when your living in a cave..... and it's frustrating because I called it before it happened, didn't even find out until the next Monday what happened.... but nothing I could do about it... so I pay the book and work at getting it back... I've got small plays on Louisville and Ole Miss... and big plays on Michigan St., W. Michigan, Alabama, and Washington.... looking at about 5 more games, but I'm waiting for line movement or to see how things go in the morning. Sharp

This game is largely a no play to me, but we gamble so there really is no such thing. The one thing i can't understand is why anyone would bet on a team that can't run the ball and can't stop the run? here are the rushing numbers for and allowed by SMU in their 4 games
1. Rice 11 yards/208 yards
2. Texas State 61 yards/233 yards
3. Texas Tech 61 yards/180 yards
4. TCU -8 yards/ 271 yards
Those figures are all verifiable on this website. I can't justify a wager on any team that has such a horrible descrepancy in rushing. They also have a 3rd down conversion rate that hovers around 30%. That implies to me run or pass the offense cant stay on the field. Those games were largely against superior talent which makes them difficult to handicap, but SMU has shown no signs of life at all this season and to assume a team is going to "be better" this week without any evidence to support it is a major pitfall of handicapping. On the other hand, Tulane has issues too. Although Tulane has held its own against superior talent in Alabama. and East Carolina, outgaining Alabama in total yards for the game, the most points they have scored is 24 in any game so far this year. Futhermore the most troubling part of a Tulane bet is the unimpressive 24-10 win over ULM last week, it is not a stretch to assume that SMU could replicate that performance. Upon closer inspection though Tulane outgained ULM 454-182, the score just does not reflect the actual dominance they had in the game, and it is reasonable to expect Tulane to have its largest point output of the season against SMU since they have demonstrated no interest in stopping anyone. It is for this reason that i think a SMALL play on Tulane is justified. Not really sure how you could justify any play on SMU since they have yet to do anything so far this year and a bet on SMU is just hoping they get it together this week. That being said i do see the possibility that in a conference game in which the talent margin is not so wide, SMU could find a way to keep this game close, which is why i will only go small on this game and reserve my main wager for USC/Oregon St.

I don't see why everyone is counting out SMU. Yes they have been blown out in thier previous games this year, but c'mon the Green Wave couldn't blow out this SMU team last year, when they were just as bad and when Tulane Had Forte at running back. Still thinking on this one, but I might take SMU for a small play. I wish there was a better Thursday night lineup, but this is it.

Will this be the week that the June Jones throw the ball and hope for the best philosophy works out? All I know is that it'll either lead to turnovers or points. Tulane meanwhile will be able to score at will on this horrible, horrible SMU defense.

we're five weeks into the college season.. if that SMU offense doesnt start clickin its time for a new qb.. especially if u play a weak Tulane pass defense.. but SMU's defense is weak all around.. lol
I still think 17.5 is too high a spread.. if it was around 9-10, i would be all over Tulane, but its not..
SMU +17.5
