I think it's been said several times this bowl season this year, but don't underestimate the hungrier team.  That team is SMU.  How excited is Nevada to be playing in a place they regularly visit? Also, are they dejected from the missing players?  I think SMU comes out fired up and any success early just throws fuel to the fire. I'm on SMU small play and moneyline. On the under as well.  72 points means they almost have to score 3 TD's a quarter and I give more respect to the defenses than that.

Wow I didn't know Smew was allowed to play in a bowl game...The resurrection from the death penalty I guess...yawn - At least there is an NFL and some NBA to look forward to tomorrow. I see the almighty lines makers are adjusting this accordingly but I'm gonna take a stab at it anyway -- UNDER 71.5

this is right on the head.  Nevada is missing 2 starting RB's (1000 yders) and 2 defensive starters (S & LB).  The question is what kind of mental state is this team in?  Add that to the fact that June Jones knows this team/scheme/coach/etc. The SMU offense he is running features a strong RB, something he never had at Hawaii.  June wants to make a statement with this game coming back to Hawaii where he left on pretty bad terms.  Just think SMU wants it more and Nevada is spinning out of control.

I'll take the points plus the dog moneyline.  Merry Christmas boys

Been on SMU from the start and will ride them here again.  2 RB's out for Nevada, and June Jones will have the Mustangs sky high for this game - SMU is without a doubt the story of the year (HUGE turnaround) and they are thrilled to be there...Nevada already had its bowl game (Boise) and while they likely do enough to win here, they ain't gonna cover the number imo

hawkeyefan1433 is exactly why i even bother reading the thread. the other 75% of opinions are garbage based on nothing and tend to lose. i do my own research before i open the thread and have about 70% percent success, but you now have nearly eliminated all of the other sites i used to visit. you break down all the KEY stats that actually matter. Just wanted to take a few seconds out of my fine christmas eve and give you some kudos. merry christmas and keep up the fine capping.

I can't believe how many people like SMU over Nevada.

Before the Boise game people were talking upset, that Nevada was going to give them a game. Well SMU is one of the worst teams out there and I can't see there defense stopping Nevada's Offense even if they are without 2 players. Let's not over think this game too much.

Nevada rolls and almost covers the over themselves

Let's see, Dogs have not only covered but won 5 of 6 bowl games so far.  And June Jones, long-time Hawaii coach, is back in town. 

And in my College Bowl Confidence pools (where I've lost 5 of 6), I put Nevada 34th (or most confident), and given what's already happened, I wouldn't dare bet till the tide turns.  And it may not, until the favored Crimson Tide wins.

The way things are going, I wouldn't at all be surprised if tsunami hits offshore of Hawaii just before game, and final is about 7 to 3.

yes dogs have covered,but 2 of the favs-ore st and cal had no business being a fav.as the games showed,the pac 10 is bad,keep betting against them.

My lines are down to 11.5 and 71.5,hoping for 11 and 71 and then take Nev.,the big weakness they have is pass defense based on stats,but is SMU going to be able to take advantage of it,not that sure of it,but we will know early in the game.

Probally going to wait until a little before the game starts and watch the lines to make my bet,and since its the only game on I will play something, but still lean to Nevada but the cappers I respect in here being on SMU is keeping me from taking Nev.already.

I am gonna take advantage of the o/u moving down dont think I will need it  but love the over and Nevada. Nevada has more speed with new backs coming in (turnovers worry me). Look at the yards per carry these backs have had for Nevada.  The two running backs out for Nevada backers might be a blessing.I also believe that Nevada will have more to prove now that they are without their star running backs. I believe the O line is why the Packs running game is so good. Finally going back to the Island may bite June  and his players in the a$$ as it has so many other teams.

Did anyone checkout that site i posted in which they have been   100% this   bowl season. Simply put if bet the team with the higher power rating they won & or covered. Here it is to check for yourself. Let me know what you think.

For this game, I'm backing off my plays. Decided I am just gonna go have a nice dinner with the family and not worry too much about the game. I'm just gonna throw .5 unit on SMU ML and .5 on the Under. Nothing to worry boout if i lose

Screw SMU and the outright victory. The Wolfpack come out with something to prove and I also agree it's the O line that creates the running lanes. The under might also be a play now but I think clearly the Wolfpack win tonight...maybe not get the cover but I've got them ML in a parlay with UTAH. Do some of you really want to lay $ that SMU wins outright? At the end of the night you will be down and wishing you would have at least taken the pts. The only way I would take SMU is with a 7 pt tease with the under.

Nevada isn't a fast scoring team, they run a hell of alot.
SMU has a very good chance to cover here, true story.

I'm not concerned over Nevada's RB's not playing they don't do it on their own,it takes an O line to make them go.I haven't been on this site for awhile and I value the opinion of guys like Hawk and Big Daddy but I was always told never change your bet and have been burnt many times for not listening to that advice I loved Nevada and still Like em fora small 3 unit play tonght

I don't get all this June Jones going back to Hawaii stuff.He's not the coach there.Maybe the local fans will pull for him, but maybe they will pull for the WAC team instead of SMU. Even with Nevada missing key players, I think they are still 2 TD's better. Nevada's pass D worries me though. Nevada -10.5 or 11.

Beutiful day here in Hawaii.  No clouds, no winds, nice day for football.   SMU all hyped up, in the islands, first time bowling in 25 years.  I'll take Nevada larger on the half, and then bigger on the game.
Last 2 games Dogs covered and the over.  I think its time for a favorite. GL all.
