USC has a WEAK remaining schedule so they have got to blow out everyone they play to remain on top of BCS for the title bowl...

Thurs. home dog trend should not pertain to this game.

Man I would love to see it. I don't see OSU winning SU but I am starting to come over to the Oregon State side in thinking they will cover. Will wait for the line to keep climbing and then I might take them right before kickoff with a small play. Half a Unit maybe?

So you really believe that you can cap better than the guys setting the number?  You must be very special.  I see guys like you all the time.  You make bold predictions and blow a lot of hot air when you're right.  But sooner or later your bluster makes you sink a lot of money on a "sure thing".

I make no guarantees, so I can't pound my chest when I'm right.  I know that I'll be on the wrong side sometimes.  Just follow some simple rules.  Bet small and consistant and you will be ahead in the end.  (BTW I didn't say Vegas wins every game - go back and read the post).  Oh, yeah, and don't forget to lighten up and have some fun.

This game is sure getting a lot of action in the thread.....man I could have used a tuesday special or a wednesday night winner or something. Had to jump on the LA Angels to blow out king Felix....

OSU is known for covering these type of games....But so far SoCal is looking real...If Snatchez is that good ..look out..

Shepard, that was a well spoken piece.  I am aware of why the home dog trend is so effective, and this game doesn't fit the bill for a Dog on cover.  Matter of fact, USC doesn't fit any trends that other teams may have slipped into other than domination at the moment.  I've decided to take em' in the first half. Let em score with half back passes and whatever other crazy shit Petey came up with in the last 10 days. Definantly, an interesting line on this one - fun for analysis but easier ones out there this week.

Can't lay 24 points.  I do believe however USC wins by at least 3 TD's.  So I'm going with the old teaser:

USC -17.5
Over 45

Like has been stated here, USC need to blowout teams, especially on the road due to their weak schedule if they want to stay #1 on the rankings.  USC can score 45 points on their own here, and I do think the Trojans win by at least 3 TD's.

Investing @+25. usc- very heavy public confidence/perception after big tv win . osu has 11th toughest schedule @sagarin ?? damn.  can usc bring the same emotional intensity w/Ore on deck ? i'm doubting it(with a potential value in the margin of error now being priced @25 vs 21.5 opening @pinny apparently). glta..

go Dawgs(position@+7 however).

Have to agree with Shepherd on this. I took the Thursday night dog 3 of the last 4 weeks. I don't think 5 straight dogs will cover. I know it seems like a lot, but USC has the major edge in all aspect of the game, except home field.
I'm giving the 24.5 pts. to OSU. USC wins by 28pts.

The line started to go up , I saw it as high as 25 1/2. Starting to come back down, jump on it before its too late. Take the points. Oregon St always finds a way to man up for SC. OSU ain't got a chance in hell to win this game, but SC is NOT gonna cover a 4 TD spread.

bloodyshredder... i never blow my wadd on any one game... my best bets stay the same amount all year long... and USC isn't even a best bet this weekend... don't assume you know anything about me...
 
TNT... i guess the one thing you would be missing is that Auburn has no offense... and the other thing is that Miss St always plays Auburn tough... same isn't true against LSU...

I HATE USC, THEY'VE HAD A SEASON AND A HALF OF PRACTICE,SO FAR  (WITH BYE'S) AND NOW PLAY A MUCH WEAKER TEAM.

Not sure on this one...this is one of the most disciplined SC team I have watched play/practice/train in the Pete Carroll era.
 
Crazy predictions about how many mistakes USC will make are simply absurd going up against a team like Oregon St. for their PAC 10 opener. Thinkin this spread will not be decided by the HOME DOG playing up to an opponent is an absolute joke.
 
USC has only gotten the chance to play 2 games so far this season, they just had to sit for another bye. If you don't think they are pumped to finally be playing tomorrow, pumped to be starting PAC 10 play, and pumped to smash the Oregon St home crowd then you need to stay the hell away from this game.
 
The major factor in determining this game is Pete Carroll. He loves to play conservative against inferior oponents and show as little of his playbook as possible before the month of November. Especially with Oregon on the horizon, I would expect USC to get this game in hand and back off as much as possible.
 
If OSU plays a solid game I would expect a backdoor cover. However, no matter how green Pete Carroll keeps his offensive playcalling, no matter how much cover 3 cushion defense he plays, there is still a good chance that OSU blows their chance to cover spread with costly turnovers.
 
My prediction:
USC by 28
