That is something for all of us to agree on, we are all degenerates, hahahahaha,
but seriously, danstyk, couldnt have said it any better, teal sucked last year but has improved immensely this year and I like their balanced attack. Grothe is too prone to make mistakes, he will have 3 or 4 interceptions which rutgers will capitalize on, I like rutgers here a lot, might take spread. Although I love them to win, if they lose by 2 I might have to go to the top of a very large building

The thing that concerns me about this game for USF as others have mentioned: it's a ROAD game. In the two road games USF has played thus far, they barely beat a questionable Auburn team in OT. The other game was to a 3-3 Florida Atlantic squad that has wins over ... well ... nobody really. Midway through the 4Q, the powerful Bull squad held a 28-23 lead and got another TD later in the game to make the score a little more reasonable, 35-23. Rutgers is questionable at home losing narrowly to Maryland and Cincy. This will be a huge emotional game for their team and fans at home, so anything can happen.

USF on the other hand has beaten WVU at home, North Carolina(which whipped Miami and played South Carolina close)..and do I need to Mention Auburn( a team who has proved themselves now by beating Florida and Arkansas)
2. End of Upset season somewhere in sight....That's right, it has been a fluke year for underdog teams at home and all across the board. However, that will change...USF is number 3 and will prove themselves by beating Rutgers at home...In fact, this will be a revenge game for USF because Rutgers beat them last year.
For all those that worry about a close game..well make it -1

Smooth sailing... South Florida is the pick here.
1. Who wants it more? USF is playing for a shot at the National Championship. Rutgers was beat by Maryland..in fact just look at their schedule

Clinto0 - On paper, I think USF should win going away (and just might). But remember last year, the Big East's landscape totally changed during the 2nd half of the season due to several "upsets" that potentially cost a couple of schools a legitimate shot at a NC.

Long time troller, first time poster. Big play on USF -2.5 for me. There is a lot of hype, but I've watched this team play all season and what seems to get lost through it all is that they are really a good team. They find a way to win. Their D has wicked speed and dishes out punishing blows. I got to tell you Leavitt has these kids fired up but more importantly focused. Not about their ranking or what could be, they are really dialed in right now and are buying into the one week at a time mantra. On Monday a University of South Florida alumnus who is battling acute myeloid leukemia, was invited by Coach Jim Leavitt to speak to the team before Monday's practice. "It was really from the heart," Wagner said. "It was just talking about faith and trust and focus and finishing strong." The team adopted the "Finish Strong" mantra and wear it on black wristbands. They have something to prove and it starts with Rutgers and the rest of their conference schedule.
It may sound cheesy and what not, but these kids realize just how crazy the season has been and how fortunate they are for the cards to fall how they have and their ascent from not being ranked to #2

Okay. Here we go folks. I hate to say it, but there's somehting wrong with the spread in this game.
I always like to look at situations where one team is favored the previous year and then becomes the underdog the following year by a bigger margin without large household changes.
last year South Florida was a 4 point HOME dog in this game. This year South Florida is a 3 point favorite. This is a 7 point swing, and I'll be damned if either of these teams has a NEW standout player on offense or defense.
Which brings us to my next point. Ray Rice ran for 200 something odd yards last year against this same defense IN South Florida. Teel shredded this same defense last year as well. South Florida has problems with good teams that have a balanced offensive attack. They can't key in on any one thing...It's hard to be the favorite in any game against a conference opponent, which is why Rutgers has not covered against South Florida as a favorite. Now South Florida gets their chance to wear the pants, and find out how hard it is to cover a spread as a favorite. This is a big money game for me, as the point swing with the spread is too large for a team that was an underdog last year with basically the same personnel

Think bout it this way-----if WV went to RU 2 months ago the spread would be double what it is now for South Florida, who we all know what they did to WV-----thats why somthin is fishy here ---i wish i knew what it was?????

You people are falling into the trap, the trap that you see a #2 next to USF's name and you actually believe it. They are not that good, why do you think the spread is so low. Would it be that low if LSU or Oklahoma came knocking on Rutgers door? Not even close, think about it

lets not forget about rutgers full back leonard...he's now in the N.F.L PLAYING 4 THE RAMS....leonard made rice everything he is...i think ray rice's stats were better with leonard in the backfield...rutgers didn't lose alot last year but they did lose leonard and he was a great player....USF WINS THIS GAME BY 2 TD'S...QB TEAL HASN'T FACED A SECONDARY LIKE THE BULLS YET....THIS GAME WON'T BE CLOSE

i don't get it. Rutgers defense is 15th in the country at home allowing only 17.17 points per game. South Florida allows 23 points per game on the road. Where's the beef? West Virginia is one dimensional. Auburn is not exactly an offensive juggernaut either. The fact is that South Florida just hasn't faced a team with the kind of offensive balance that Rutgers has and that is a fact that you are all going to have to live with. Auburn , North Carolina, West Virginia, Central Florida, and Florida Atlantic? Come on. Not one of those teams has a qb with the talent of Mike Teel to pass the ball. Rice is just as good as West Virginia's running backs. The South Florida secondary is UNTESTED. Who have they had to defend? What qb on those teams is worhty of mention? And as a sidenote; Navy has the number one rushing atttack in the NCAA (please look it up) averaging 345 yards per game. The Rutgers defense held that attack to 254 yards in their victory. And that's hard to do against a team that specializes in rushing the ball. South Florida is not as good on offense at running the ball as Navy, but then again no team is..
But Rutgers also averages over 300 yards passing per game too. Defensively, this is not much of a concern against South Florida, where the Scarlet Knights can play cover two because Grothe is not a good pocket passer. Most of his big plays come on scrambles and shit plays. As i said before. Forget about the points take the moneyline on this game. Take Rutgers at home.

I see that everybody is saying the USF can stop Rutgers ground game because they contained WVU earlier this year. Am I the only one who watched the USF-WVU game and noticed that WVU didn't try to run the ball. They got way too cute at the beginning and by the time they wanted to run the ball, White was out with his thigh bruise, which is another reason you can't read into that game too much. And WVU still put up over 450 yards of offense, but they turned it over 6 times. Rutgers is committed to the run and will succeed at it, they will also take care of the football. Even though USF beat WVU, they only but up about 200 yards of total offense. They scored on a broken play and a pick 6. Rutgers will establish the run, which will open up play action. Look for Rutgers to pound the rock and make some big plays down field in play action. Rutgers 27 USF 13
Don't fall in love with Cinderella, she only gives over the pants handjobs.
p.s. I can't wait for Lou Holtz to say the word Piscataway with his annoying lisp. He reminds me of the Crypt Keeper when he is in HD.

I was geared up to take usf in this one until this kid asked me if he could place a bet through me and he wanted to take the bulls. i have not placed one of this kids bets as he picks sure losers. his trend i think is like 0-12 the last two weeks. I have all but stopped gambling and just take his action. all that said, i am taking rutgers. From now on i just go opposite what he goes taking his money from his loser picks and going with the opposite myself. can u say double up.

I am from Florida and root for the Bulls but I have to go with Rutgers here. 94% of public $$ on the Bulls and I believe that rankings DON'T mean that much this year, look at every top 10 ten team that USED to be in the top ten and isn't NOW. Divisional game in New Jersey in the rain. 30% of isolated T-storms that night so they will be probably be running the ball a lot. Ray Rice should have an exceptional game and South Florida will have a hard time against the 5th ranked passing D in the nation. I think that this is a surpisingly low scoring game that reaches the high 30's. Rutgers 9-3 ATS last 12 as home dog. 19-7-1 ATS last 27 as underdog. 6-1 ATS against a team with winning record. Under is 6-0 in Bulls last 6 conference games.
USF-17
Rutgers-21
94% of public $$ on the Bulls
did you mean 49 percent ?
If not, please show us where you got that number.
thanks

First off bad call on ATL on MNF....What a bone head move, Im in Sales and I think I sold myself on the pick. Sorry to anyone I influenced...But I did go 14-4 last week so not such a bad loss.
Anyways...Doesnt USF look like such an easy play even with Rutgers being at Home??? I think this spread would be higher if Rutgers didnt beat Sirycuse the way they did.
Any thoughts??? What do u think Big Daddy

i'd like to see that too, you're telling me the line didn't move when no rutgers money came in? I enjoy reading here on covers but why would a person that takes winning seriously waste his time being told that their is a 94% public money team. Especially a road favorite
I think its prally more like 72% consider the line has move a full point since i took it at -2 when it opened. Don't tell me thats the same thing as 94% cause its just NOT.
I'm from Jersey, went to school with the Teal at Don Bosco. I like rutgers and all, but i've allowed myself to realize that they are just not the same team without Leonard. This is truly the difference, SF was good last year and they are the real deal this year, you will see what their D does to rice. They are fast and are highly energized in all of their games. Groethe is excellent.
The bottom line is that atheletes from florida are the best in the country and granted, they are spread throughout the big programs but this huge group of highschool footballers have found their way to the tampa region and are playing with some moxie.
there is value at a -2 road favorite, believe it or not. To be honest, cincinatti is virtually the same team, i watch the entire big east set of games literally weekly, and cinci is just as fast and focused. I think Rutgers has a tendency to lose focus and I really believe the hole Leonard left hasn't been filled and is really hurting this team.
Its gonna be a great game, but you have to understand that cinci is gonna be up against SF for the big east title this year, get used to the idea. Just cause they are in the top 5 doesn't mean they HAVE to fall to a conference foo. Why can't home grown sick athletes run away with a mediocre big east. Well, THEY CAN. I don't know if they will, but we won't find out until they play Cinci. NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE THIS WEEK
GL my friends, I hope i'm right but i also hope we all begin to acknowledge the value of florida highschool athletics, flor atl is good agains the spread for this reason and they are still garbage
