I like your posts (most of the time LOL). I know you love your Hawkeyes. What's your unbiased opinion on this game. Iowa on the road is a toss-up sometimes. I don't see them losing in this game.

My opinion: this game scares the living shit out of me. I know Iowa's roster is good enough to just dominate, but I don't know if we will be able to put it all together. A couple things that scare me: Iowa is 0-6 in its last 6 games West of the Rockies. The heat down there (with elevation). The start time doesn't really scare me all that much, they are college kids, there day is just beginning at 9:30 (central time). One last thing that scares me is this line. I projected the line at Iowa -3.5 and it opened at 1. Normally I am within a point or two 75% of the time. Plus the line movement just even scares me more. Also, our defensive coordinator Norm Parker is not traveling with the team this week because of health issues. This should not be too big of a deal because we are use to his absense.
Here are some observations:
Arizona has some great team speed on defensive, and have talented Defensive ends. One thing is that there defense is pretty young and untested. Arizona's recievers are solid, and Griner is a stud. Grigsby is the quick back, while Nwoko is the physical bruiser. One more thing to note, 3 of the 5 OL starters have less than a years worth of starts under there belt.
I think Iowa should be able to win against Arizona's defensive line. If we can get Arizona to 3rd and longs, I would expect our defense to tally quite a few sacks. Luckily for Iowa, Shaun Prater is back. HE is a ball-hawking safetey and adds a lot to our depth of CB's. I say that the Iowa secondary verse Arizona recievers is a push. I also don't expect the Arizona running game to do much. Arizona's defensive backs are very aggresive, which could possibly lead to some long ball opportunities and Stanzi is one of the best at throwing it deep. I think Hampton and Robinson for Iowa will be able to grind out and have some success against the Arizona defense. Overall, I think Iowa in the end will just be too physical for Arizona who's non conference schedule so far has not done much for them.
Another thing that won't hurt is Iowa will have at least 10-15,000 fans at this game.
All in all, I expect Iowa to start off a little slow, but take it in the end. I am not advising any big plays this week like last week, but I think we will pull it out. I'm sorry if my thoughts are a little scrambled and horribly organized, I'm crunced for time and trying to just get something out there. I'll try to stop by tomorrow to add in more or anything I left out.
My score:
Iowa 28
Arizona 20

Is that how you cap, jesus thats horrible. Hey guys, the grass is green, so lets lay the wood. I noticed you took the same approach in the FSU and BYU game. Remind me not to tail you. But enough about you, I just wanted to say that I took the points with Arizona last year in this game and it was a pretty big system play for me. They didnt cover, however, it was a very entertaining game that went back and forth. Plus, it was the first leg of the home and home series agreed upon these two teams. I use this example cuz i came back in the home and home series and bet the team that didnt cover the previous year and won ATS around 65% of the time. Example, the ASU/georgia series 08/09, Houston/Colorado st. 07/08. Arizona SU is my play. GL to everyone.
It's week 3 of football and already some hate ![]()
Not just because Oahu & sharp are my friends but they are great in capping games. They are both well respected in here and have been for a while.
Do me a favor man and ease up on the hating in here and let's just use our time and keyboards to help each other out instead.
I respect everyone in here from 1 to a million post it don't matter to me just as long they show respect in here and keep the hate outside the threads.
Good luck this season and let's just help each other out in here. ![]()
