A shoulder injury caused Florida State's Christian Ponder to miss the final four games of last season. The surging Seminoles don't believe a ruptured bursa sac in the quarterback's elbow will keep him from leading their attempt to get back to the ACC title game.

I'm liking NC State in this spot. FSU has showed flashes lately, but I'm not totally sold on them. The Raleigh crowd will have some impact. FSU's strength on defense is their outstanding pass rush. Their 30 sacks lead the nation. NC States QB Wilson is throwing for more than 300 ypg and one of his greatest assets is his quick release. NC St. is 8-0-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings with the 'Noles and 19-9 last 28 spread decisions overall.
As someone stated before, the line should be higher. They want people to jump on FSU. I will wait until tomorrow to decide which way to go, but definetly taking the points and possibly Wolfpack ML.
Good Luck people.
Great write up bro ! But that girls ass in your avatar is even better !

FSU does have better athletes IMO but QB play goes to Wilson here ! Will that be enough, hard to say but NCST at home + 3.5 is looking pretty good to me right now ......

NC St. is the pick in this one. They have a good recent history against FSU and are underrated in my opinion. I feel like FSU tends to be as unpredictable a team as any. With the game being in Raleigh and NC St. having 2 weeks to prepare, I'll take the home team getting points. I have the line at 3.5 but will wait to see if I can get it at 4. Everyone and their mother being on FSU makes me feel good about my pick. Vegas wants exactly that because they know NC St. has a good chance winning this one SU.
NC St. +3.5 (4 if I can get it) - 2 Units
NC St. Moneyline - 1 Unit

Because I read through this entire discussion...I'd say atleast 3 out of 4 people who chimed in sided with FSU. And looking at the Covers Consensus, looks like there's a lot more people on FSU as well.

true, more are on FSU than NCSU it looks like. but looking around the web and on here with team experts/all players consensus...
looks to me it's about 40% on the pack..

Both teams coming off a bye week and should be well rested. Before the bye week FSU barely pulled out a victory over a terrible Boston College team. NC St wasn't that great themselves before the bye week in losing in overtime against ECU.
Wilson has the edge over Ponder with the numbers in the passing game but Wilson has been terrible as of late throwing for 8 interceptions in the past 3 games. I didn't see the NC St/ECU game but I know 3 of his last 8 int's came in the ECU game. Wilson will need to make better decisons with the ball against a very tough FSU defense that only allows an average of 16 points per game.
Of course FSU has their problems as well on offense with Ponder and Thomas nursing injuries but FSU and their defense has been their key to sucess this season.
With all that said...I like NC St in this spot playing at home taking the points. Last years matchup was a shootout with FSU winning in the end. I can see another close one here so I prefer to take the points.
NC St final +3.5

It's Tom O'Brien's best effort thus far as Head Coach of the NC State Wolfpack as they are 5-2 and a game away from being bowl eligible coming into this one. Of course this game would have been even bigger if the Pack hadn't lost to East Carolina last time out but even so, NC State is simply a better team than they have been. Russell Wilson is another year wiser at QB as he's completing 57.8 percent of his passes for 2,124 yards with 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions while scrambling for another 200 yards and two scores. Mustafa Greene is the top option in the backfield and he has 419 yards and four touchdowns and Dean Haynes has 290 yards and three touchdowns. The receiving corps has done a nice job as Owen Spencer has 34 catches for 524 yards and a touchdown, Jarvis Williams has 27 catches for 421 yards and three touchdowns, and T.J. Graham has just 17 catches but he has 278 yards and four scores. The NC State defense has been solid this season but they were gouged by Virginia Tech for 41 points but the Hokies have been the only team to light them up. For the season NC State's offense is averaging 36 points and 448.9 yards while the defense is allowing 23.7 points and 350.4 yards.
The Florida State Seminoles are having a resurgent year and outside of a loss at Oklahoma, they Seminoles could be competing for much bigger things and still may be before all is said and done. In the First year of the post Bobby Bowden era, winning is making Jimbo Fisher look like an idea that should have come a while ago. Christian Ponder has been nursing a sore elbow but he should be ready to go. Ponder has completed 60.4 percent of his passes for 1,187 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. While Chris Thompson has only 58 carries, he's the team leader in rushing yards with 445 with a 7.7 yards per carry average and four touchdowns and Jermaine Thomas has 430 yards with six touchdowns but the Seminoles have no shortage of speed or talent. Bert Reed leads Florida State in receptions with 34 for 304 yards and a TD while Taiwan Easerling and Willie Haulstead have stretched the field averaging over 15 yards per catch. The FSU defense has been rock solid with only Oklahoma scoring 20 points or more on them. While the Noles have played a fairly soft schedule, when they were called upon to step it up against Miami, it wasn't even close. For the season Florida State is averaging 34.9 points and 421.1 yards on offense while on defense they are allowing 16.1 points 308.1 yards per game.
North Carolina State is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 6-2 against the spread in their last eight overall, and 13-6 against the spread in their last 19 ACC games. Florida State is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall, 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as a favorite, and 11-5-1 against the spread in their last 17 games following a game which they didn't cover. Florida State is 0-8-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings of these two.
This should be a good game as ESPN has really stepped up the level of teams appearing on Thursday's over the last few years and with the NFL starting it's Thursday games in a few weeks they need to step it up. While both of these teams have nice records on paper, when we look a little deeper, the bulk of their competition has been against the lower rung of the conference with each losing out of conference. I think both teams try and control the ball and both play against better defenses than they have been running up the big numbers and and I think the total players have gotten a little ahead of themselves here. I have two plays in this one with one being the total, the over/under, and the other being who will cover the spread. I'll go with with total for this play. I think the number here is just a little too high as both offenses have speed and can score but the idea of them hitting for long plays against the speed on defense may not come as often as they have seen aginst some of the teams they have played.
