murray is a lucky guy now he can say they loss cause he was out...woulda got hurt 6 to 7 weeks ago if they were in the SEC playing real defenses!!!!florida won the SEC championship without there best player dont think OU can win a title without theres!!!!!  OH AND FLORIDAS BEST GUY WILL B IN THE TITLE GAME RUNNING HAVVOC ON UR OU BIG STRONG SLOW DEFENSE!!!!!

live in oklahoma and i am a big ou fan. having said that, i disagree with those who think that today ou is better than texas-- i say they are not! i think texas should be playing florida in this gameb but they are not,so who wins this? all i can say is that florida will not set and rush only three  or four all day like everyone in the big 12 did except texas and osu. i believe they will show ou a lot of man coverage all over the field and will rush more than ou can block. i guarantee you meyer will not sit back and let bradford go through four or five progressions without pressure. they have great,great speed in the secondary and i think they press the receivers from ou and turn this into a fade game most of the time.lthis will result in a few big big plays for ou, but as many big losses for the florida defense. sad thing is florida has the offense to match ou point for point anyway, and they know it! believe i will ride in floridas limousine.

Good point, regarding OU being 0-4 their last 4 BCS bowls.  But you want to review why and how.
 
1) Look at who they played.  When the streak started in 2004 with LSU....it was LSU in Louisiana.  Very few teams would have beat LSU that day with LSU's stout D.  Also, Jason white and Co were expecting a certain kind of D based on Tape of LSU, but instead (according to Jason White and Bob SToops) encountered something totally different. 
 
2) USC in 2005: I had OU winning this big time, but USC was just a great team.  OU had a player muff a punt early and then the shenanigans began.  it didn't help with Larry Burdine giving bulletin board material with calling Matt Leinart overated (which was true in the NFL, but apparently not that day)
 
3)  Oregon in 2006:  (non BCS game) OU won this game.  But you wouldn't know it with all of the OU detractors
 
4) :  Boise State in 2007: if you remember, OU wasn't even supposed to be in a BCS game anyway.  I remember a friend betting on OU to win the Big 12, but then Rhett Bomar got kicked off the team before the season even started.  Paul Thompson wasn't even a qb in the fall, but was put back as qb.  Paul Thompson did good enough to get OU into the Big 12 title game and win...let alone a BCS bowl game.
 
5) West Virginia in 2008:  this was just some shameful shyt.  no excuses here, but bad coaching all the way around 
 
 
 
For those that don't watch OU regularly be careful about using OU's past 5 bowl games as an excuse or the 0-4 theory.  OU did win 1 of those last 5 bowl games. oh, and yes I know Demarco Murray won't be playing....but that won't slow down the Sooner Expresss.  Demarco isn't Adrian Peterson so it's not like OU can't sub in Kris Brown and Moses Madu.  I know I've got more excuses for OU than Barry Switzer did with their late 80's scandal, but I'm just laying out what happend. 


Im with  you on this and this is what I remember him by. Choke Artist. I really saw it when I was excited for Pac-10 show down with OU. Talk about getting Exposed. But Im a BIG Pac-10 Follower and was very happy. BIG 12 Overrated and I tip my Hat off to Texas. Thats a Team Great Coach. and a good QB.

  • 2A Football

Colt McCoy went to a 2A High School, but he put up a lot of points on far...far inferior talent. They have bulked him up and made him decent, but he is not good/great.

OU has major faults in loosing to this caliber of an athlete. I would not be surprised if Florida wins by 3 or 4 TDs.

Maybe most colleges should go after 2A quarterbacks???

OU announced today back ? can't remember his name will not play.  He played in 11 games this year.  I believe it was a defensive lineman.  Sharp

OU has not faced a D even close to Florida!  Not even close !  Gator win by no less than 10 here !

I absolutely can't stand the Florida Gators.  But I love easy $$ and this is basically a home game for FL.  OK allowed OSU to put up 41 and Kansas St 35, have u watched FL play this year?? Their only loss to Miss kept them under the radar and they were able to slither into yet another National Championship and by the way a very underated Ole Miss team has a very good chance of beating the overrated Tx Tech, (everyone thinks I'm crazy).  Yes, Sam Bradford is a stud but the newest Heisman Trophy winner will turn the ball over a minimum of twice with an interception and a fumble caused by a speedy defense and double coverage on OK's leading wr #9(Inglesias?).  Special teams for FL will also block a punt or cause a fumble resulting in points.  I know this will sound crazy to alot of Big 12 fans until Jan 8th about 11pm eastern

I firmly agree that FL is not not not the best team I have ever seen but OK is not even the best team in their Division, Texas is and they proved it on a nuetral field.  Fl is methodical on offense and will gamble on Defense (and yes will get burned at least twice). I watched every OK game I could this year and they just don't have the experience needed to win this game.  OK's high powered offense must match Fl's or moral will dip in a hurry in a hostile environment.  I really really hope I'm wrong but just don't see this as being competitive.

Cornelius Ingram is coming back for this game.  He hasnt played all year do to a bum knee, whole new two tight end sets will play a factor in this game

envision this game being like USC - Texas game a few yrs back. Whoever owns the ball last should be able to score and win it. Can't wait for the game , should be good. Can anyone name the last Heisman winner to win  national champion?

Matt Leinart is the answer to the previous question.  Also worth noting:  This year's winner willl also be the last Heisman winner to win the National Championship.

No one has mentioned OU's atrocious special teams.  Specifically, allowing teams to start at the 40-45 yard line consistently.  You cannot allow UF to do that, yet they will.  I expect UF to have at least one kickoff taken to the house by Brandon James.  Also remember Demarco Murray returned OUs kickoffs this year, and he is out.
 
Bradford has been under heavy pressure one time this year, which was the 4th quarter of the TX game, and he was horrible in the situation.  Spikes will be on his ass the entire game, making for a horrid day for Sammy boy.  Remember what the "undersized" WV defensive ends did to the "great" massive OU OL?
 
This is my favorite time of the year, and my most hated.  Favorite because I love the bowls, hated because I have to hear these cocky OU backers tout their team for a month before getting embarassed on a national stage.  They also disappear rapidly around the 3rd quarter of the game not to rise again until the preseason rankings with them in the top 5 come out again.

You really think Florida defense will give up 62 points!  Florida is not some overrated big 12 team.  They actually play defense and not too shaby of offense either.  Since when has OU played defense. Oh yeah, against Texas Tech who is going to lose the Cotton Bowl to the team who beat Florida.  This isn't OK State or Baylor or Texas Tech. Its Floirda who resembles the team that beat OU.  Anyway:

Florida's defense has looked pretty good considering they haven't played a high powered offensive team yet this year. They are in for a scare. I dont think they have even played against a no-huddle offense yet.

Ps, Oklahoma scored over 60 points in their last five games(pretty consistent if you ask me). Bradford knows how to pick apart defenses, and he has proven that.

I would say 48-38 OU,

Tebow has thrown 2 picks all season what makes you think he will throw a pick 6 against this OU defense?

I'm thinking just the opposite on picks, Sammy has 6 against weak D's (OU has played no top 25 defenses all year) whilst Tebow has thrown 2 against stout defenses (no picks in the last 9 games).

This will be a fun thread during the game for UF backers.

I'm not one to get big on myself, I'm just saying I kno easy money when I see it. Since I began picking on here I've picked at 72% and 5 of 17 losses came in NCAAB, a sport I know I'm not an expert in. So far 3-0 ats this bowl season (I forgot to make it official for SOMISS on covers, but check me in the thread). I don't pick em all, but the ones I pick, I pick for good reason. Take my word for it OU will win this one. All the ppl responding to my threads I appreciate it. It gives me a drive to not be wrong in threads. And this is one I def don't plan to be wrong on!!! Keep up with me cuz I don't plan to be on covers forever ... I'm just a good guy spreading good info!

Matting6, what is your motive here?  You are screaming at people, repeatedly, on this subject.  You list yourself as a student, a student, do you really think anyone is going to take a kid with limited experience seriously when it comes to their money?  Give your opinion, that is what this board is for, but move on.  You sound like that Billy Mays pitchman guy who screams on TV to sell you  something.  Move along son.  If you have something significant to add, come back.  This game is over a week away and you alread have about FIFTEEN posts on this subject!  Get over yourself man, you are just one person, with one opinion.  We got it.
 
Oh, and btw, there is NOTHING I have seen that makes OU an attractive play with less than 10 points.  Sure, Florida could be upset, but all signs make me see about a 2 TD win by Florida.  Too powerful and physical on offense with a diversified attack like OU hasn't ever seen.  They think Boise and WVU ran the spread, wait until they see it with better athletes.  The UF defense is the best they have seen all year, and it isn't close.  Florida is healthy and they play "big boy" football, not Arena League Football with no defense.  If you can find me 14 points I MIGHT bet on OU.  Don't lose your lunch money on this game kid.

On the teams that each have played this season that went to bowl games or going
 
Average score Gaters 44 to 13, and Sooners 52 to 27.
 
In their last 3 games Gaters 44 to 14,and Sooners 62 to 27
 
In their games with most points made and given up :
Gaters posted  63 with Kentucky ,and gave up 31 to Ole Miss.
Sooners posted 66 with A&M ,and gave up 45 to Texas.
 
So with Murray out going with Gaters -3 1/2
