Oregon St did lose their chance to play in the grandaddy of them all, but realistically that game was not supposed to be that close.

I don't see that loss having any long lasting effect on the Beavers coming into this contest. They were shelacked last year by the Ducks and went on to beat Pitt 3 - 0 in the Sun Bowl.

On the reverse side, you have BYU who find themselves heading to another Las Vegas Bowl, while neighboring Boise St and Conference foe TCU are heading to a BCS game. That could be a bigger punch in the stomach than that OSU loss to Oregon. With that being said.

Oregon St - 31                     BYU - 28

Beavers -2.5                 over 58.5

will take any points availabe with senior -laden BYU squad that lost to arizona 31-23 in the LAS VEGAS BOWL last season...look for QB max hall to have a big night finding tight end dennis pitta, who needs only two catches to become the ncaa;s all time leader at tight end...BYU;S underdog staus is another reminder to the cougars that there conference is still not considered up to par with BCS conferences such as the pac-10.....so look for a spirted effort from this club with 19 seniors,, to not go out on a sour note like last season ,, but to finish strong and go out on a sweet note.......BYU----48---38......... ........

Like the Beavers and under.  Defense wins games.  Somehow FSU's defense did most of the work playing in high altitude.  Pac-10 just has a lot better recruiting of athletes overall.  For the Beavers to win this game would do a lot for their coach and recruiting.  I cannot possibly back a coach who's name is Bronco, and who also ironically played at Oregon State.  Maybe after tonight I change my mind; probably not because that name is so ridiculous.  Max Hall is in over his head, or has his head in something;

Oregon St wins on defense.

i saw a lot of BYU players today getting drunk and dancing outside the hotel shirtless ,waking up drunk and going to play just isn't the same as win the bowl and going to sleep drunk!

Byu 250 more passing yards in 38 fewer attemps. Not saying who i am pulling for just that the stats dont compare to the SOS here.

i love posts that just say byu +2.5 easy or early lean osu - 2.5 - give us a reason you like a team - as far as i am concerned at first i liked osu just because pac 10 - then i looked who they beat - wash - wash st - portland st - unlv - ucla - asu - cal (good win) - stanford (good win) - 2 good wins - same with byu - beat wyoming sdst - unlv - utah st - colo st - new mexico - air force - tulane - utah (good win) - oak (good win) - so i am confused on how to bet this one - - i think this game is going to be alot tighter then people think - (lower scoring) - any help is appreciated

I don't buy the fact that Oregon St. might not want to be here. That happens to established teams that go to bowls they don't want to go to. Example being Alabama last year. If USC was in this spot, I might buy it due to the fact that they expect to be in big bowls. I don't think Oregon St. feels entitled to anything. Oregon St. rolls here. It's my opinion, a  mediocre FSU squad went to BYU and scored at will. BYU can't match the speed of Oregon St. Anything could happen, but please don't take BYU solely on hoping that Oregon St. won't be motivated!
