Week 3 thoughts
-first I can make fun of myself for losing a spread play by a half century mark, yes that is correct, I laid points with BYU, it was a close game, they only lost by 100 to the running Utes
-congrats to Boom_Boom and his Clemson Tigers for getting a big win in Death Valley, they didn't look sharp early but showed some toughness and kept scoring points, Dabo was pumped in his postgame interview, good for the Tigers
-congrats to Irish fans and backers, they get a much needed win against Mich St, no time for rest though because everyone wants to beat the Irish, if their QB's could clean up mistakes I think they could be a solid team by year's end
-was very impressed by the LSU defense yet again, those guys have NFL talent out there and they aren't letting teams establish a ground game, I think they could have their hands full in Morgantown with a nice passing attack but who knows, the Tigers could beat anyone by double digits if their defense keeps shutting everyone down, that is a good football team
-I wasn't impressed with either Florida or Tennessee in their respective game, the Gators are obviously talented but they will have to get things together if they want to beat the likes of Bama or LSU, they certainly have the talent to do that, that team should get better each week with the new schemes
-is Oklahoma really the best team in the land? I'm not so sure about that, I know they are good but they seem too vulnerable on the road to be the actual best team in the country in my opinion, think I would give that nod to LSU or Alabama, that being said, the Sooners did get an important road win against the Noles and will obviously remain number 1 in all the polls
- is Ohio State's offense serious? 6 points? wow, that offense is dreadful, I know they lost some talent and have had a tough offseason but they are still THE Ohio State, you guys better shape things up or you might end up with 4 losses
- as expected the Hoos lost to UNC, no more comments regarding that ![]()
- Stanford rolled into Arizona and pushed the Wildcats shit in, I really thought they would bounce back and show some heart in this spot against Stanford, instead most others with a brain won money betting on Stanford, only an idiot like myself would bet on Mike Stoops against Andrew Luck, I like being tortured and picking losers
- I had to do a double take when I saw the Tulane/UAB score and boxscore, did Alabama dress up in Green Wave uniforms and play UAB? after a dreadful 3 point performance at home against Tulsa the Green Wave simply dominated UAB with a balanced attacked and a complete ass whipping blowout, WTF?
- Georgia got a much needed hard fought win against Coastal Carolina ![]()
- Navy gave Spurrier and the Cocks a scare, you can't lose an undefeated record at home to the military Steve, come on, I know that was out of conference but your guys have to play better than that, the ol' ball coach is playing 36 holes this morning while the rest of his staff watches film, hit em' well Steve
- what happened in the Pitt/Iowa game? if you had money on Pitt then you probably wanted to beat Todd Graham after that loss, nevertheless, I think the backup QB for the Hawkeyes just earned himself a starting job
more thoughts throughout the week, trying to prepare for another week of 50% picks
