I agree with you that when it comes to college football, people in the south take it a little more seriously. In most parts of the country that I've been in, the college football switch comes on sometime in August. In the south, college football runs 365 days a year.
Yeah, some of the people on these boards amaze me year in and year out. You try to help them out by providing a little inside info, but because it differs from what they are reading in their pre-season magazines, they can't comprehend it. This thread is actually very tame compared to my Bama/Clemson thread from a year ago when I said many of the things I'm saying now.
I said Bama would win the game straight up, that the game would not be close, and that Bama would physically dominate Clemson. And oh dd they laugh!!! Then they laughed again when I said Bama would beat Georgia straight up. Sure I've had the occaisional meatball drop in this year, but it's not nearly as bad as it was last year.
The biggest mistake people are making about this Bama team is that they think that their offense will be way down this year. Boy are they in for a shock!!! This will be a much better offensive teams this year for many reasons. Virtually everyone equates change with bad.
Then there is all the hullabaloo about VT's defense. Of course they are good, but they about the same as a typical SEC defense, except they pile up stats against weaker competition. Bama's offense won't be phased one bit, and they'll definitely get into the 20s and probably the 30s in this game.
BTW, Terry Grant has looked outstanding this summer. He'll definitely get some touches in this game.
BOL!!!
