Teams are even, no edge means no bet.  Dont start the year with a toss up.  Look for another game with an edge factor.  gl

    Oddsmakers are   at Virginia Tech

with them catching  +3.5 vs Boise St.... at Fed Ex which should be worth atleast 3.5/4+ Points for HF

Basically saying the Hokies are atleast a TD softer than Boise St ......

Yet Brother  Bibendi will still try and tell you that Virginia Tech is The real deal

Make no mistake about it.  The public will be all over Boise St.  Alot of the poker players- who are consistent sports betting losers- I know are dropping huge units on BSU and they can't name one starter on the team.

Oddsmakers are trying to get even action on both squads. If driving that # up to 3.5 gets them the action then they are satisfied. Not sure how this is them laughing at VT. Of course people are going to be in love with Boise in this game. They are like Butler in the big dance this past season and every other Cinderella squad that people want to cheer for. So yeah, if I wasnt a VT fan I'd be cheering for Boise too. The average person betting this game remembers them beating TCU and Oklahoma in their last few bowl games and cares nothing about matchups or home field advantages.

Not even sure what you are getting at here? So Boise is ranked higher than the Hokies and thus the Hokies are catching points against them? Yeah, normally happens against a top 3 team. And what does the "real deal" mean? Have I ever said I thought they were going to win a NC this season? No. VT has put themselves in a class where they hope to be challenging for it every season though. You can rip on them all you want and diss Tyrod but they consistently finish in the top 10 every season and win ACC Championships and bowl games. So yeah, when you have them ranked preseason 19 and 100-1 to win the NC I will be a little perturbed. Does that mean I think they are going to win it all? No. I'm just saying that youre a hater and you have been since I've been on this site All I'm saying...

Looking forward to an awesome game

I have respected doubleup's stuff since I joined this site but REALLY ????

VT and the ACC at large is on a different level than Boise who in my opinion is very much over rated every year.

UGA has proven in their short run with them that when paired with the real college football program the results aren't very good.

VT and a more mature Tyrod in a lock

Because Boise is so fundamentally sound, in particular they rarely miss tackles, the running backs who give them trouble are those who run past them more so than run through them.  LY Oregon was a power running team until they discovered La James.  You can't compare La Blount or any part of Oregon's running game to Ryan Williams.  A better comparison would be Ryan Matthews, who put up 234 yards and 3 TDs on 19 carries LY vs Boise.  Still, Williams, and Evans for that matter, and actually you have to include Taylor when he breaks the pocket, comprise the toughest running game Boise has ever faced.  I'm not making a pick here, I'm just trying to illustrate the challenge Boise is facing.  Remember, the only back to get 2 TDs vs Bama last year was Ryan Williams- in his 1st game no less.  He also put up 5 and a half ypc that night but only got 13 carries b/c Tech was playing from behind.  Will Tech have to play from behind against Boise?  We'll see, but whoever scores first in that game will have an even bigger advantage than in a usual game.  Another aspect of this game I think is being overlooked is Boise losing Kyle Wilson.  I know they have everyone else back, but KW was their best defender, and one helluva run support corner.  For those of you who watch Boise a lot, think about all those time an opposing runner would get the corner and as quickly as he got it he'd have his legs taken out by one of Wilson's missile takedowns.  Is the 22nd man so to speak on Boise a physical corner, or is he finesse?  So many ponderables...

Looking at teams record as UD/Fav L4 yrs, Va Tech has cashed the UD ticket 69%, vs Boise as a fav of 56%.  Was the home opener last season vs Oregon a suprise to anyone?  They were a 3 point fav and won 19-8.  Last year was the first year Boise opened the season with a major conf and now they take their streak on the road to a neutral field.  I am leaning that Beamers boys will not only be ready, but will be looking for all tricks.  These two are so evenly matched its sick, only huge diff between the two is their strength of schedule.  This game will be very fun to watch, just not sure if their is a whole lot of value here on either side to wager.  Maybe would be best just to enjoy this one and lay off? gl

Great points.  I feel the same way.  I think this game will remind you of Fresno's running attack with a few deep strikes to Boykin mixed in throughout the game.  I don't think Boise will be able to stop this running attack.  V Tech for me.
