potato heads are overrated as always  are they good sure, but who do they play each and every year nevada, new mexico ,idaho ,utah st.,san jo st.,lousiana tech,put em in the acc, big 12, big 10,sec, pac10 and see how many games they win each year, where every other game is a frickin blood bath, play eight games a year against good smash your mouth teams and see how fresh they are @ the end of the year,  rite now i got the game @even  ill take my chances with the hokies good luck to who ever you pick

Bendi....short and sweet here.....The only game on the board I like as soon as I saw it was the Hokies +2.5.  I took it immesdiately and still don't regret it.  I definitely agree w/ DoubleUp4life and his comment that TCU and Boise should have faced a BCS conference school in a bowl, but oh well.

As we all know, motivation will not be an issue for either team...BUT I would have to say that VT really really wants this game in a bad way. With all the talk of Boise being NC material, all the pressure will be on them. VT will feel like they have nothing to lose. 

Come on. Legitimately? If the other teams defense is prepared disciplined the "trick" plays dont work....they're only trick plays because they are unexpected/unorthodox plays.....to say thats not legit is crazy.....they prey on their opponents weaknesses....

peterson hasnt been out coached yet (that i've seen) and Tyrod hasnt shown me he can play a huge game yet either....

Boise St by 6     20 returning starters  Top 3 QB in the nation & Better Offensive Coaching  = win  also defense is underrated - remember the pain they inflicted on UO last year - same defense only more coherent  ... i  will let the number go to -1 then I put it on BSU                  hopefully it will match the hype 

Don't F*** with mother nature........... Just when you Boise folks thought you could fight off the storm with plywood on the windows, watch out for the East Coast in September. Vtech blows the doors off of Boise tomorrrow. I have facts to back my opinion, but I have no patience to respond to hecklers. Beamer is due, opening losses to USC, LSU, Bama, now all the places are in place for the Perfect Storm.

I agree, but I will probably take Boise St.

I do like the fact that they have many returning starters and that it's their 1st game of the season.

What gives me pause is that I know that many of their stats are skewed because they have played so many weak teams. It's easier to get up for the one big game against a ranked opponent when ALL the rest have been weak. Also, it's a whole different thing when you have to play tough teams week after week.

In other words, if Boise St. had to play tough teams week after week, their stat against the better team would not be that great.

And I would not bet on them.

But that is not the case.

As in all sports, wanting and doing is directly tied to results on the field of play.  I'm sure VT wanted to beat eventual National Champion USC in an early neutral field non conference game in 2004, not.  I'm sure VT wanted badly to beat eventual National Champion LSU in an early season neutral field non conference game in 07, not  I'm sure VT wanted badly to beat eventual National Champion Alabama in an early season neutral field non conference game in 09,not. All the early season talk of Boise St playing for the National Championship game this year makes me wonder if this alarming trend for VT will continue today. Boise States' "Super Bowl" run starts today, and any question of how badly each team wants this game will again be answered on the field of play.  Myself I'm liking Broncos chances.  Sorry for the long winded post bibendi and BOL this season.

They are overrated? If you think they are overrated then you must think the Pac 10 are the laughing stock of the NCAA. They beat a really good Oregon team the last 2 years.

By beating Oregon 2 straight years, it's crystal clear that Bosie is better then Oregon. Look at Oregon's resume the last 2 years, it's acutally pretty good.

This is more of a testiment to how over rated the ACC and Va Tech is than anything. Sure Boise St is really good, but Va Tech isnt even a top 25 team
