We get lucky enough to get a revenge rivalry game right out of the gate.. a heartbreaking triple OT 37-35 loss for San Antonio will be the all offseason long motivation they need to go into Houston and change the tide.. that an the fact we have two programs going into new conferences but opposite directions.. we have the Texas high school football warlord Traylor who turned a anemic program struggling to transition to FBS into a perennial top 25 team and has two conference titles on the plaques for the last 2 years.. 

tale of two programs may really be the tale of two offenses .. we have continuity of frank Harris and his 7th year and 4th year as a starter at utsa. He has evolved into one of the best group of 5 qbs in the nation.. brings back 3 of his top 4 targets (albeit they lose the top receiver to ole miss) they also have their leading rusher back and add vandy transfer griffin along with Harris doing heavy lifting in the run game. Meanwhile you go across the state and see the cougars breaking in a new qb and not having a anyone in the receiving corps that’s tank dell caliber.. losing one of the best qb wr tandems in make things hard on a offense that picked up for the lack of defense played last year in Houston.

anyways I wanted to finish up my write up with the defensive side of the ball .. where you have a houston defense that gave up 32 ppg one of the worst in the nation last year… they lose their top 5 tacklers and the best 2 edge rushers .. I don’t see a lot of improvement overnight.. 

I wish I got Utsa at +2.5 or +115 it was sitting at the past couple weeks since I have had this game circled since lines came out ..

but I’ll take them at -111 on FanDuel
