Illinois killed them in a horrible spot with UM on deck and coming off a relatively easy home win over Wisconsin...this would be a completely different situation, where they have something to prove after the embarrassment last year...and I think they have the defense and coaching to get it done.

Also, Illinois has a much better defense than WVU will put out there...Wells would carve through them and I'm sure they would have some success through the air too.

I'm saying this and I hate OSU...

Ohio St. will not be able to keep up with USC or WVU.  WVU would kill them even more so than USC, so their bowl hopes are already crushed, and they don't even know yet which one they are playing in.
 
And, as a Michigan fan, U of M is going to lose their bowl game as well, no matter who they play.

 C'mon Lindy, If having to win your last home game of the year in order to maintain your #1 ranking and a place in the NCG is a bad spot,then your program is not deserving to be mentioned as one of the NCAA elite.

 Plus this is a "Buckeye Bashing" thread,if you don't have anything bad to say then stay out.

Just think it's ridiculous that everyone automatically assumes OSU will get killed if they play in the title game just cause they had an absolutely miserable performance last year...UF would probably win that game about 30% of the time.  This team has a chip on their shoulder from that and everyone doubting them.

I think they (and the Big 10) are extremely overrated as well, but fuck, has WVU beaten any great teams this year?  For some reason, beating Cincy on the road for your biggest win doesn't impress me all that much.

If you were to take the time to look at all the teams in the top 10 and research the winning percentages of their opponents, you will find that Ohio State's opponents have the highest winning percentage.  I'm quite confident that if Ohio State was playing any ranked opponent on a neutral field that they would be the favorite.  With that being said, I look forward to playing our neighbor to the southeast in the National Championship and winning by 2 scores.  I'm sorry that you folks out west and down south have a hard time dealing with the fact that the cradle of football is in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  Keep betting against OSU so I can get a better line.

I seriously doubt they will be dogs to WVA.  I look for them to be a 4 point favorite.  West Virginia has an offense that could give OSU some trouble, but remember they play a soft Big East schedule.

some expert in Vegas has said OSU would be a 6 point fave over WVU. That may end up being too high as fans will remember last year. Last year doesn't mean anything of course but the squares like guys on covers may think it does. If anything OSU can prepare differently and better this year. Those of you on WVU's nut, ask yourself this. WV has a good QB, but other than that, do they have have anybody that could start on OSU? If WVU players were top recruits do you think they would go to OSU or WVU? What happened ythe last time OSU and WVU played?

Maurice Clarett. They are a decent team this year, but most certainly do not deserve a shot at the title. I would let Hawaii play before them. I know for a fact my Gators would stomp them in the ground.

linde I think it would be OSU -3 or less or as a dog. depends on how WVU plays v Pitts. If it is a total blowout for WVU then the spread may be shaded to WVU more. Let's say that WVU gets totally lucky to win this game, say Pitts plays their best possible game and shuts down WVU offense, then collapses late like Philly did the other night, then OSU may be favored by more. This shouldn't really matter as it's more luck playing into it, but it is the public perception, the last thing that the public saw, and it is why the books set the lines so good, they are usually one step ahead of everyone else.

I think WVU will be the public play if these two were to meet if they handle Pitt on Saturday, they have not shown much weakness this year while OSU has...I would be awfully surprised to see OSU anymore than -1.5 if/when they meet.
 
Can anyone tell I really like OU's chances Saturday?  LOL

i hate WVU and could care less about anyone from the Big 11 but as a big east watcher the last 5-6 years, this WVU team is head and shoulders above last years version. the defense is way improved...last year a back like Wells woulc carve them up or Brohm could throw all day on them.

Here are the schools that are big time.
 
1. Miami
2. Nebraska
3. Oklahoma
4. Florida State
5. USC
 
Ohio State* is not in this class, no matter how much they try and tell us that they are. My favorite line is about the National Championship "every" year. That is a Miami line from not playing in a conference. Ohio State is happy with winning the Little 10.
 
Come back and tell us you are a factory when you actually win a few titles fair and square.

Who on OSU* would USC want besides Wells and they certainly don't need him considering Johnson is there.
 
Robiskie would be a nice third option. Anybody else? Laurinaitis could play some downs. Outside of that, I don't see it.

This is still the dumbest argument I've ever heard.  Who gives a flying fuck how many people go to the pros from a school? 

Want some colleges that produce NFL type players year in and year out?  How about FSU, Miami, Tennessee, Michigan, and Nebraska. . .  and where the fuck are they right now?  Not playing for a national championship, and only one of them has once since 2002.  Only one of them has a legit shot to even win their conference, and even they got plastered 3 times this year.

WTF canes 47, OK OKL and USC are big time, but Nebraska, Miami, and Florida St are all rebuilding programs, and will be for some time, these 3 teams had a nice run, but not the last 5 years or so. They may think they arelevant teams nationally, but they are no longer. And it doesn;t appear to change in the next few years. This is the dumbest statement I have ever seen on Covers. The top 5 national powers would actually be

These are the teams that have consistently been in the hunt for BCS games and NC games the lastg 5 years, he 1980's and 1990's are not relevant here.

Are you flippin' kidding me? Buckeye fans, "What color is the sky in your world? How many championships have you won? And now how many have the yankees won. No comparison! With the current BS, i mean bcs system, the cupcakes you schedule you just might luck into the title game every year. But you will lose them all. my guess is you're not going into law or debate anytime soon.  the comparison was to the level of hate the Buckeyes get in this forum compared to the level of hate the Yankees get in this forum.  it had nothing to do with their respective traditions. when you delusional neophytes get together in these threads its like the blind leading the blind.
