Jimmy, how do you keep defending the BCS?  Even herbie and the other guys on the bowl selection special TV show, admit it sucks.  If the BCS is so great, why doesn't any other sport at ANY level adopt it?  What don't you get.  Answer that question.

lmao, same ol argument every year about how we need a playoff system.. Who cares? If you don't like the BCS system, why watch? Easy as that!! They got it right even though I am not happy about it. The people saying that bama got their shot, uhhh no they didn't. That wasn't the championship game.  Myself, I would have really enjoyed watching an LSU/okie st game.  LSU would win hands down but it would be very entertaining.

I watch because I love the game, nothing beats the passion of college football. As far as "they got it right" once again is an opinion. Personally, I think Bama is the best team in the country and if Saban had enough common sense to punt instead of try lonf field goals they would have won the first time (albeit LSU is very, very good). I sure wish they would show the entire lower division play-offs on ESPN over the bowl games, at least they really do matter and are not about propaganda and irrationality..

I have never, ever defended the BCS except to say that it is an improvement over what we had pre-BCS.

    Ok, let's look.

Down year for Oklahoma, another down year for Texas. That alone skews public perception of the conference as a whole. Yes there were a lot of decent squads based on record and that makes the conference more competitive than this year's top heavy SEC, but OU/UT shittiness takes away from OSU's success, and the Baylor's/Kansas State's of the world carry no cache whatsoever.

Not one team plays any defense except for the Longhorns. Not a single one of Oklahoma State's defensive starters would sniff the field for Alabama or LSU, that whole conference is just a bunch of video game offenses facing defenses that can't keep up. Extreme thing to say, but the general consensus agrees with this too. Explain to me how the points I made are wrong without introducing another factor to the argument or belittling me.

Oklahoma State lost to an average team as a 27 point favorite and it came a few weeks after Alabama lost to LSU in overtime as a 4 point favorite, when those two teams each have one loss and are the two teams being considered for the #2 spot it's a stretch for a large group of people to collectively value the 22 other games they played more than those single losses. OSU's loss is quite clearly worse than Alabama's.

Is it entirely fair? Of course not, and yes a playoff would be the best way to go about things, but let's not make this rematch out to be a completely inexcusable injustice. It's understandable on some level, not total madness like you seem to believe.

Those "in charge" have decided who the 2 best teams are........even though any knowledgeable CFB fan can see they're wrong. W/O a playoff, we are always subjected to a Mythical College Football National Championship Game

......& this year is no different

Im sorry I dont like any of these teams but right here is the TRUTH. I dont care who you like be real these two teams are full of GROWN men. The best players in the country play for Bama and LSU. Osu wouldnt stand a chance they would physically get worn down and destroyed. Weeden has never played good against good competition his whole career as sad as it is. Those defenses would swollow that poor offense no one in the B12 plays DEFENSE! let me guess "but we beat oklahoma" yeah you beat a Oklahoma team who had nothing left in there tank after losing there best player for the season. A Oklahoma team that Baylor beat and took the air out of. Bama lost to LSU so does that not make them second best? they lost by 3 and should have one and me and a lot of other people believe there better then LSU 5 missed scoring opportunities! Before you speak Bama has better talent better coaching and more power and speed. So hows OSU ganna win? get real the teams a joke they lost to IOWA STATE. You Serious?

Oh good. They supplanted TCU's defense as the dominant statistical defense for the past 3-4 years. Maybe TCU should have been in the last few NC games based on the "whoever has the #1 statistical defense gets into the MNC game" theory

I think the big, obvious thing you're missing is that alabamas loss was by three to the far and away best team while okie state lost to Iowa state. Don't give a shit who was at HOME and who was on the ROAD

Would I love to see LSU/OKIE ST?  Damn right, because after LSU slammed them the SEC hate would grow even larger, and that is so fun to watch.

But we got what we got, which is the 2 best teams in the country playing for the national championship

If we got playoffs, the SEC would have still dominated the last 6 years in all likelihood, and you guys would find something to bitch about in the way the playoff order was selected.

Cheers guys and enjoy what we have here with CFB, it's one of a kind and it's fantastic!

bottom line is they got the best 2 teams in the nc game even though its a rematch . Okie st., Stanford would have been there if they didn't lose so the best 1 loss team is Alabama (no doubt)

Here's another scenario that team "A" wins over team "B"...

    Team A's D-1 opponent's this year compiled 81 wins and a 56.2% winning percentage while Team B's D-1 opponent's compiled 74 wins for a winning percentage of 55.6%.

I'm kind of shocked to see that Team B's little patsy opponent win against FCS school Georgia Southern who racked up over 300+ rushing yards on and 7.7ypc on the ground didn't hurt them at all. This system is a complete joke Team A got completely shafted.

the SEC is much better than the big 12 top to bottom and all the experts agree.  DEFENSE wins championships and even though the sec was a bit down they still would dominate the big 12 head to head .All people see in the big 12 is explosive offenses but not one team is good defensively even Oklahoma.A good defense will shut down an explosive  offense any time and you all know it.

I don't want to hear about how Georgia Southern is a 9 win team that is currently 2nd in that Nation in the FCS rushing as a team. The fact is they are an FCS school and they actually exceeded their ypc of 6ypg on the ground by almost a full 2ypc.

Well at least I can wager on LSU again and make some more money off of Alabama on the fade...

haha oddsbuster you are delusional my friend.. you think alabama gave a fuck about that game? they scheduled georgia southern when they were a non triple option team.. the triple option gives many teams problems that are not prepared for it. we will look back in ten years at this alabama defense much like we do the 2001 miami defense. filled with play makers.. lsu may win but the tide is the right choice to play them.. two great teams. ok st would get rolled man..

Let me ask you this hintonbears. Am I delusional when I say that the only 2 teams to gain 300+ yards of offense vs the Tigers was the 6th ranked offense who put up 335 yards to LSU's 273 yards and the 18th ranked offense who put up 533 yards to LSU's 366 yards. If it wasn't for the 4 turnover's one of these teams could have beat LSU. No other team has outgained the Tiger's or even exceeded the 300 yard mark except these to offensive minded teams. Both of those teams also had a combined 703 yards passing for 3 TD's against LSU. So yeah I think Okie state and that 3rd ranked offense (2nd in passing) has a much better shot at beating the Tiger's than the Crimson Tide does. Same on the BCS for not noting these stats. And yes by the way LSU is going to beat Bama by at least a TD this time around...
