This is type of game that always attracts my attention. Everyone and even the most clueless sports people on the planet know Michigan stole that game against WMU. The wolverines have listened to the media and the whole world tell them how awful they are. That’s how I like it. Michigan is absolutely hated and now they get to play a team perceived to be very good.
Let’s get this out of the way. Western Michigan is actually a pretty good football team. They won 10 games last year and returned basically everyone. Michigan was caught sleeping in game 1 for sure. I did see a lot of problems from Michigan in this game, so hopefully a lot of that can get cleaned up.
It looks like Oklahoma just rolled Utep when you look at the final score, and they did it was 51-0. But if you dig a little bit, you can see UTep actually moved the ball decently and actually rushed it pretty well. UTEP had 112 yds rushing, 3.5 yards per play, and 10 first downs. Time of possession was actually even. With all of that being said, UTEP is a bad bad team and OU should have probably beat them much worse.
OU has been shuffling their offensive line around the last month. The center and another lineman have been out, but looks like coming back for this game. Another lineman got hurt playing backup center, he would normally start at tackle, and he is likely to miss. A shuffled up and injured offensive line can be hidden in a game at home against the Miners. If there continues to be problems, those will be amplified against a good Michigan defense and in the big house.
I know I’m on an island with this pick. That’s generally where you’ll find me.

UTEP had a 50 yard run for one of the last plays of the game with the 3rd string defense in for OU, and absolutely couldn’t do a thing against them all game. I’m on Michigan myself just thought I’d point that out
